I dont think the previous poster went to the right J,E!...Amesbury is in Wiltshire and land locked!!!
Ayrmer Cove is in Ringmore,,,,,anyway we have just spent a week in Ringmore....and have used the JE for 20 years.
The current owners are doing a great job....the food is freshly made and of local origin and looks and tastes superb, whilst the beer is very well kept and tastes good. The Friday night themed currys are always busy. The food and drink is always served with a smile
With regards to the decor this is a 13th Century public house, not a "multi - chain" theme pub that appears to be springing up all over the place,
It is full of character, and the tiny bar is almost unique.
Its a great little pub, in a very pretty village in a beautiful area of Devon
