really looked forward to a high quality meal after walking up the substantial hill from our caravan site. was welcomed by a lovely friendly bar staff. examined the menu only to be told that despite the inn advertising food, could/would only sell to pre booked customers. they couldn't cater for a large party SIX of us. the owner was rude and inhospitable. the bar staff tried to make light of an uncomfortable situation, no alternative was offered and rather than admit that they had just not bought in enough food to cater for the holiday maker/passerby customer. the owner was rude and in view that our budget was £200 their loss not ours. in this time of recession ignorant people like these deserve the consequences of their actions. we were not the only people to find this poor attitude a larger party with young children received the same treatment. we travel across many counties and have never been met with such a ridiculous situation of advertising food when clearly there is none. i hope journeys end meets a well deserved end.
