“woodlea tea room, sandhead haddock and chips”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

Today (Thursday 27th September 2012) was the second time this month that my wife and I had lunch at the tea room. I cannot fault the service-happy smiling staff- the food-haddock and chips superb as was the scampi followed by home made pudding-and of course the cleanliness of the place. The coffee is perhaps the finest tasting coffee in the area, and coffee and home baking can be highly recommended if you do not fancy a full meal. The guy who had the bacon roll and soup and didn't like it should have gone for the fish!!!!!!!!

“This used to be lovely”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

I visited Woodlea in Sandhead again this year and up until now it has been great . It did have lovely home baking and yummy soups but oh dear it was so so ad I did not even finish what I was given . I ordered a bacon roll and a bowl of soup , I got a very cheap frozen flat burger bap that I would expect at a charity barbecue filled with microwaved hard bacon and a most disgusting bowl of leek pieces with big chunks of potatoes and water , there was no flavour apart from bitterness .
What has happened the waitresses were lovely I think one of them has been with you for a good few years she was lovely and welcoming . There was a new chef ? Well a guy in a chefs hat ?
Please please sort this out it was great can it go back to what it was a great wee tea room with lovely comforting home made food .
