I returned yesterday to this restaurant to enjoy their steak tartare (raw beef meet). The restaurant is located in the tiny center of Callian in front of a fountain with terraces. Typically Provence. My friend and myself discovered a "degustation" of steak tartare. In fact, you get 3 portions on your dish and the waiter explained one needs to start with the " original" steak tartare on your dish. Than you need to try the Italian one and finally the one with Roquefort cheese in it. The reason for this eating order is because the one with Roquefort tastes stronger than the Italian one. The fries were abundant available, but they were not as excellent as their delicious steak tartare. Price was 17€ per steak tartare, that's not expensive at all. The owners and staff were remarkabely friendly, which is always a nice thing. You can sit either inside or outside on a terrace with views on the valley. The weather was not good enough to remove the "plastic transparant cover around it"...but that didn't bother. Don't expect superb interior design etc.... It is a rural village restaurant. I'll definitively return again when I'm in the mood for the steak tartare, but with the very large portions they served, it won't be tomorrow :)
