Played two rounds the last week of August 2012 and the course was in really good shape. Some of the reviews indicated "dry fairways" but if anything - they were over watered.
You can't beat the vistas surrounding the course (even if the damage from the Angora Fire is still visible). The streams and creeks that run through the course make you wonder if you should bring a fishing pole along.
Best bet is to try and play first thing in the morning as the wind and the crowds pick up later in the morning. If you tee off early you can get around in a cart in about 3 to 3.5 hours. Teeing off at 10:30 - 11:00 am on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday means an extra hours to 90 minutes.
Hit and miss with the crowds and the people in front. If it weren't for the cart paths and being a little pricey - I understand they are dictated by the weather and playing season - I give it 5 stars.
