“Worst Hotel in Tahoe, Even Worse Service”

I have stayed at many of the hotels in Tahoe and this was by far the worst hotel, sevice, and experience I have ever had. The manager was rude and inconsiderate. Compared to this place, the rest of the hotels in Tahoe get 5 stars. The service and experience were bad enough, but to top it off, the rooms were funky and smelled weird. If you are planning to enjoy your time in Tahoe I would not recommend staying here.

On the plus side, this is reasonably priced accommodation, very close to the gondola, Heavenly Village, the stateline (therefore casinos) and the general amenities you need for a ski trip (equipment stores, places to get food etc).

On the downside, the motel was dated. It was clean enough, although not spotless, but my main gripe was how thin the walls were. We heard pretty much every conversation, TV show and whatever else our neighbours were up to.

Would I stay there again ? Possibly. But there are a hundred other motels in this part of town, so I would be driven by price, because as I said earlier, you get what you pay for.

My boyfriend and I had high hopes for this place, not only by the reviews on TP, but by the photos and the website. The main reasons we booked this hotel were the location, which was said to be within walking distance to casinos, and for the GIANT bathtub. Both were huge dissapointments. Though we did make it to the casinos they were not within walking distance especially when you have to go over 5 ft of snow to get there. The tub was great to look at but fell apart as soon as we turned it on! The covers for the jets came off...all of them and fell into the water, let me tell you it is not fun looking for those after you have already sat on one and can't see through bubbles! The shower looked like it hadn't been cleaned, neither had the wine glasses, and when we went to make coffee the next morning that hadn't been cleaned either! This could be a great place if they did some remodeling, and hired better staff that at least know something about Tahoe. I will not be returning, there are plenty of better resorts and hotels in the Tahoe area.

My wife and I have both been traveling for years. We have stayed at expensive and innexpensive places. In all of out travels we have never come across a place as disgusting as this. Was it the half eaten granola bar that we found blending in on top of the coffee table when we checked in, was it the dirty carpet, was it the dirty bathroom? This place looks nothing like the pictures on the internet. It smelled, was stuffy and had poor air circulation. I have stayed at some pretty awful places and I can say that I would stay at a Motel 6 again before I ever stayed here. At least the Motel 6 would be clean or somewhat clean. Stay away from this place. The night that we were there the was a lot of drinking going on. It was loud and loud late, but we couldn't complain about it because the people working the front desk that night were part of the party. The guy working the desk was part of a group of people enjoying a half barrel in the parking lot until all hours. If you really hate someone try recommending this place to them.

My fiance and I stayed here for 3 nights at the very beginning of the snowboarding season. We loved it! Our room was beautiful. Make sure to spend the extra $ and book the room with the hot tub. The staff is VERY friendly, the breakfast was yummy, and the overall experience was great. Heavenly is a short walk (about 5 mins) from the hotel and the casinos are within walking distance too. We rented a car but did not even use it except to drive to and from the airport. Have fun!!!
