I woke up this morning craving yesterday's assortment of delectable dishes I had the fortune to sample at DELICIOSA - TAPAS and WINE BAR.
Sarah Watson is the young and brilliant proprietor of the BEST Tapas and Wine Bar In Havelock North (Hastings) if not all of Hawke's Bay.
Her creative tapas menu meticulously prepared and perfected with local ingredients and complimented by the best local wines of the region made this an unforgettable Kiwi experience.
Some of the original and unique dishes include:
Squid salt and peppered with orange parsely sprinle, aioli and lemons- phenominal
Trio of fresh tuna......my favoiriteof the trio was the carpaccio with Tahitian sesame dressing
Crispy pork belly with pomegranite juice, fresh fennel and apple salad. ( I dislike fatty meats but this was almost all meat and the little fat there was , was crispy)- Amazing
Lebanese seven spice beef......I want the recipe
Duck liver pate with Damson jelly ( Damson jelly is a great accompaniment to cheeses as well and I will be hoarding jars of it back home)
Unfortunately they do not export to the States but do to Australia.
The decor is tasteful, rustic and casual
The service was excellent.
