The staff were friendly and attentive, but not overly so, and contributed to a professional but relaxed atmosphere. Upon arrival, drinks were promptly ordered and delivered to our table. My friend and I both had three courses: entree, main and dessert.
The first thing we both noticed was that the menu was well balanced with enough dishes to choose from but not overwhelming. I ordered scallops with cauliflower purée, chorizo and parmasan crisps. The flavours were beautifully balanced. A lovely dish. My friend really enjoyed her salmon entrée.
So as to avoid food envy, my friend and I both ordered the duck confit. It came with a pumpkin purée and beautifully caramelised onions, the sweetness of which, along with the purée, really complimented the rich, savoury and complex flavours of the duck.
For dessert I had cremé brûlée. My friend had fruit spring rolls. At this stage though, I really didn't care about her dessert. All I cared about was my smooth, rich dark chocolate cremé brûlée served with vanilla bean icecream and a pistachio biscotti. It was delicious.
My only regret was I ate too much but then I don't know what I would have left out, so no regrets.
