We stayed at Ryad Edward last month and we have such a lovely stay !
Our very spacious suite was amazing : high ceilings , king size beds , big bath, ecletic fourniture,
great taste . When we arrived in the evening they served mint tea, candles were lit around the pool
under the amazing giant pink bouganvillia .It was the best wellcome we could expect .
Not talking about Hicham's warm smile.
The sunset view from the roof terrace was just marvellous.
Food was the best we had in 10 days in the country !
Staff discret and very helpful, the Directrice gave us very good advice which prevents us from having a lot of trouble.
We are going to book the whole place for our 20th wedding birthday so all our friends can share our experience.
We are coming back!!!

After looking at the Trip Advisor reviews, I can't understand how anyone could rate this bettter than poor - average, and am really surprised and a little dubious about all the excellent ratings, as this is not by anyone's standards. Whilst we weren't put off by the shabby chic that the whole riad has, our room was a bit of a disgrace, it was dark, noisy, hot and when we used the shower it smelt like a drain. The air con didn't work and if we put it on sounded like a bag of spanners. The Riad itself was pretty in a shabby chic way, but it's in the wrong part of town and we certainly didn't find the management helpful at all, we got no tips on where to go and to top it off we were locked out of the Riad for 30 minutes after coming back from a night out, we really panicked and the man next door had to let us use his phone, it transpired that the guy on duty had gone to pick up another couple who were lost, but not even to leave a note! We got a paltry apology the next day, not even a drink on the house.f

This Riad is twinned with Kasbah Bab Ourika which is absolutely lovely and I would vastly recommend but don't stay at Riad Edward, yes it's cheap but you definitely get what you pay for if even that.

We also stayed at Riad Noir d'Ivoire which was the most amazing experience like being transported to another world, yes more expensive but 300 times better.

We chose this place because we were also going to Kasbah Bab Ourika, the sister hotel in the Ourika Valley and we thought it would be simpler with transfers to stick with the two places own by the same person. Riyad Edward is an amazing property. Others have described it as shabby chic, and I can understand what they mean - but the house is beautiful and didn't feel like a hotel at all. It is 500 years old and the owner has maintained its authenticity and kept original features where ever possible. Our suite was lovely with two sleeping areas either side of a sitting area with a fireplace and beautiful high ceiling. Our teenage son had a room that adjoined the suite. Beatriz was excellent and we appreciated her advice on what to do in Morocco. At her suggestion we booked a half-day guide for the next morning and had a nice gentle introduction to the medina the next morning with him. He was very capable and informative. We had an excellent dinner at Riyad Edward the first night and also thought the breakfast were very good. We loved the beautiful central courtyard and the roof terraces. Even though it was hot during the day it was cool in the evening and we appreciated the fire which was lit in our room each night. The staff were all very attentive and helpful.

My friend and I went to Marrakech at the end of March. Riyad Edward had been recommended by a colleague and I have to say it lived up to expectations. Beatriz, Layla and the boys who work in the Riyad were so helpful and mad our stay more lovely. We were two girls travelling and as we arrived a little later than expected on our first evening and therefore had no time to explore the Riyad organised a taxi from the Riyad to a local restaurant and back on the house! It's little touches like this that make them special. Btw Beatriz is really good at recommending restaurants for your taste and wallet and her staff will book it all for you and arrange any transportation.

The rooms and courtyards are stunning, they are very old though and it is worth remembering this. If you like a sterile, perfectly finished accommodation, this won't be for you. That's not to say the Riyad wasn't clean as it was. I loved the photo's, lights, use of tiles and furnishings that made it so special.

After 3 nights at the Riyad we went to their sister hotel the Kasbah Bab Ourika in the Atlas mountains...wow!

Can't wait to go back to Morocco

The Riad organised our smooth transfer to the Riad where we were met with mint tea and moonllght in the beautiful courtyard. Our host Beatriz was warm and helpful with many handy hints, her staff and cat Cous Cous made us feel at home and peaceful in the exciting and hectic town of Marrakech. Dinner was delicious, authentic and excellent value. The terrace breakfasts were more than expected and a perfect start to every day. We were very kindly given an upgrade to a suite when we arrived and spent our evenings in front of a log fire, just the right way to relax after days of walking the busy streets. Beatriz also arranged a transfer to the sister Kasbah in the foothills of the Ourika Valley. It was more than we could have ever hoped and would recommend the Riad to anyone wanting a beautiful welcoming space a little walk from chaos of the main square.

This beautiful, chic, unexpectedly charming Riyad ticked every box and more. The setting was stunning (views from the roof terrace with the backdrop to the Atlas mountains and the sun rise/sets were mesmerising). The food was the best we'd experienced in Morocco, the staff incredibly discreet yet always helpful, the bedrooms/suites were sublime and the beds with the best imported down quilts under stunning wool bed throws. The December nights were cold so the fires were lit in the ancient fireplaces, warming up the private lounging area between our bedrooms filled with comfortable antiquated treasures - old Moroccan rugs and cushion covers, stunning black and white photography of scenes in Marrakech, old landscape oils covered the walls. We were recommended the best cafes, shops, souks and carpet sellers by the Manager of the Riyad. It was perfect…...

I visited Riad Edward in September and couldn't recommend staying there highly enough. It offers a welcome and restful retreat from the chaos of Marrakech. The plunge pool that greats you as you enter the Riad is stunning. No less disappointing is the beautiful terrace with amazing views, which you can enjoy while eating a delicious breakfast. The room was really spacious, comfortable and authentically decorated with a great adjoining bathroom.

We were exceptionally well looked after - it was a great way to start our trip in Morocco
