“So friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2009

My wife and I spent 4 nights in this charming tented camp. Located conveniently close to the Bigodi Wetlands and only a short drive from the starting point for chimp tracking, it is probably your best option if you have booked several trackings and wish to go birding extensively in the nearby wetland without commuting every day from Fort Portal or the lodgings near the crater lake area. The staff is very welcoming and friendly – not just professional friendliness, but well-meant and natural. The tents are standard, with a bucket shower and a toilet without flush – but a bucket with sand is provided. Just act like a cat and cover your droppings with sand. Except during the night - and during daylight hours - there is electric light in your tent, though this wasn’t enough to write my diary. Of course, the tents have no writing desk either. The only place to sit at a table was in the restaurant which is found upstairs in the main building. The food served showed a mixed picture. Sometimes it was standard international cuisine while at other times they surprised us with really tasty curries. Usually, dinner was better than lunch. And if you have a sweet tooth: try the banana pancakes with honey for breakfast. The best we ate in Uganda! Oh yes, and there are black-and-white colobus in the trees next to the tents!...
