“The best in the area.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

The resort is relatively new (visited in Feb 2013). It would be comparable to sort of a good single level motel in the USA. The pool is really nice. The view of Capones Islands is fantastic. Its a great place for friends, its nicely secluded for couples, Its small, probably 16 or 20 rooms, You might be able to access it by public transport, but I doubt it. We had a large group, and we did an occular of all the places in this area, and this, without question, was the newest, and nicest. There is no nightlife here, but walk about 15 minutes along the beach, and you will come to the main part of Pundaquit, and there is nighlife there, in hotels and bars that are not as nice. The beach is relatively deserted , and can be quite romantic, day or night.

The place has 2 pools and the beach is swimable. The room was clean and the food was really good but quite expensive.

We booked this place a month in advance and had to pay 50% of our bill via BPI. I thought the 50% deposit was a bit steep.

Pros:

They allowed swimming in the pool at night and the pool was well-lit.
The beach was not pebbly and we could walk bare-foot comfortably. It was clean too. No trash around the beach area and all of us took a dip and stayed there for a couple of hours.

The room size (we got the double sharing) fit 6 people quite well.
Air conditioning was good.

The food was really good. Try the chicken pork adobo (Php 220 good for 2- comes with 1 rice) and the oriental stir-fry vegetabes (Php 180). The halo-halo (Php 120) was good too.
Their beer is reasonably priced at 45.

The people at the reception was very friendly. They answered every question we had patiently. They also had the room ready when we got there and did not make us wait.

There was no videoke machine and we loved it that they kept the place quiet and wholesome. :) At 11pm, the place was quiet and dim and romantic and very peaceful. All you could hear are muted conversations from the people staying outside their rooms.

Cons: NO PETS ALLOWED RULE They do not allow pets but have 3 dogs roaming around. The dogs are OK- they were all friendly. It was their "unfed" look that bothered us. We thought about all the left-over food on the table at the restaurant and wonder why the dogs look like they're starving. Where do they bring the leftovers??

The room had a bathtub with no plug. We were so excited with the tub only to find out we had to do a Macgyver to use it with no plug for the drain.

To wrap things up, I wanted to add that this is our only summer trip this year and we wanted it to be stress free and enjoyable for all.. and it was. We're glad we spent it in Capones Vista and we look forward to going back- hopefully with Voda, our well-behaved golden retriever who loves loves LOVES the beach.

Room Tip: Go for the beach front our double sharing. Room 1 is closest to the beach and room 2 is right in fro...

Very relaxing beach view where you can see the small island nearby. The rate is reasonable for this resort. The staffs are kind and nice to us. They offered us that they can cook the food from the market. So we bought a very huge tuna from the market which cost us PHP 250 (what a bargain!). So they cooked it for us with 3 different recipes inihaw, sisig & ginataan. Unlike when you order from their canteen, its a bit pricey and just few meal choices. And also, you can ride a boat going to the island where the island is white sand. I really love to go back there soon. Its just so far from manila (160 kms) 5 hours drive.

Rooms are clean and spacious, neat looking. It's not a big resort, so it feels more private and quiet, but fun. They have beautiful swimming pools with fantastic view of the beach and the mountains. We did not like their shoreline, they have no huts or any shade to stay at while swimming in the beach. I got disappointed when we asked for towel replacement the following day, there were 10 of us and booked 2 rooms, and they did not want to replace all of the towels!!! Their accommodation price is not cheap at all!!!! They have pretty good size of restaurant, but did not try their main dishes, we only had their breakfast as it was included in our package. The usual fried rice, egg with a choice of tapa, cornedbeef, longganisa and alike. They could not even afford to include any sides like maybe tomato or atchara?!? But overall our stay was fun, and relaxing. The staff were alright. Btw, there are no other activities but island hopping.

Room Tip: Get the room close to the beach. Although their rooms are nicely laid out and it's just a small...

Of all the hotels in San Antonio, we liked Capones Vista the best. Their rates are a little bit pricey compared to other accommodation within the area but the beautiful view compensated for this. They have two swimming pools which the kids loved and had spent most of their time.

Since we live nearby and some of us needed to go home early, travel time took us only 45 minutes to reach this place-it is ideal that they do offer day tour for P500/pax, P300 of which is consumable meaning we can use it to order food while the remaining P200 serves as the entrance fee to use their facilities. Not bad.

My brothers chose to stay and took one of their deluxe room. It is clean and bed is comfortable. The aircon works fine and the bathroom as well.

I love the scenic view where you can see the sunset while swimming at their pools. We enjoyed the beach although the waves are too strong, not recommended for kids. It's nice for photo ops though.

We also requested them to book us for island hopping (Anawangin cove included) which we did in the morning.

As a recap, we had fun and will recommend this hotel to travelers who puts relaxation and view on top of their list.

Not crowded. Service is ok. Rooms are adequate. Clean surroudings. Not too big, but not small. You can easily find your kids. :)

The beach... this one's a bit of a concern to me. The seafloor has some sudden slopes... So I told my kids not to go to the beach and just settle for the pool.

The food. It's fine. But a bit expensive. But what can you expect, they aren't booked 365 days a year! They got to compensate somehow.

The only problem is, it's not located in Samar. It's in Zambales. Pundaquit San Antonio Zambales, in Luzon... :D
