Oh dear . Our second visit since the pub changed hands . A month on STILL no heating on despite a nice new log burner ! On arrival Poppy advised the coffee machine was broken :( Just unfortunate on our previous visit the lady who served us could not operate it .
Poppy did recover the situation by offering a cafetiere and the coffee made by her husband (?) was very good . I question was he her husband ( he was working from the kitchen ) as when he came through .....to turn the radiations on ! , he walked past making no acknowledgement that we were there . Same as last time, when all the diners eat with their coats on , as we did ! Does he not realise small village pubs need to be personal with their customers ?
I heard him ask Poppy was she going to start the log burner but her reply and actions said no :(
By this time we were so cold we decided to leave and eat elsewhere .
I mentioned to Poppy we were leaving and it was due simply to how cold it was .Sadly this did not appear to concern her as she explained it would be cold as they did not have time to put the heating on until when they opened !!
Perhaps this is a pub to visit purely in the summer months . What a shame .
