“One amazing trip to the Yukon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

-Best locations, best hosts, perfect stay

My boyfriend and I booked a short trip to Whitehorse because we wanted to see the northern lights. THIS PLACE IS IT.

It's about 15 - 20 minutes from the airport and the roads are well-paved with no traffic. Easy to get to this place and it's beautifully located in the woods. The hosts, Wolfgang and Renate, are the best hosts I've ever met. I felt really relaxed and comfortable and they made me feel as if we were long time friends! They provided a lot of places to check out in the area too.

You will definitely see the Aurora Borealis from the cabins. This place was literally perfectly placed for it. Food was delicious European style breakfast and I loved how they cracked the egg. They also provide dinner upon request, massage sessions, a sauna, a jacuzzi...etc.. did I leave anything else out? They've got everything here.

We stayed in the Chalet Enzian. I wanted to live in it. There are heaters, free wifi, satellite tv, and a kitchen to cook, if you want. The beds were so comfortable that I slept through my alarm clock :P I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and it was worth every dollar for a quality experience in the Yukon. I would love to go back again!

Room Tip: Absolutely loved the Chalet Enzian.

We booked our trip online and had immediate response from the owner Wolfgang. We went with our daughters (11 and 12) and stayed in two different cabins. Both of them are beautiful and nicely decorated. The beds are comfortable and you can sit in your own cabin with privacy yet able to see the Northern Lights thru the windows. We just need to step outside of the cabin to take amazing pictures. Hospitality by the owners, Wolfgang and Renate are unbeatable. He is very knowledgable around the area and provided excellent and insightful recommendation.

We took the dinner packages and the food was amazing and better than anything else that we have had in Whitehorse. Wolfgang even provided tips of taking Northern Light photos over the dining table. The service is immaculate and we are all so sad to leave. We had already booked our next visit with them already. Highly recommend! Book early!

Highly recommend!! 3 super high quality cabins. 20km south Whitehorse. Superb European style breakfast. Dinner optional; didn't try it, but have no doubt it would have been fantastic.
Plan a return trip there in winter for Northern Lights and Yukon Quest.
Hosts Wolfgang and Renata extremely helpful.
You won't be sorry! Saw others after we were there---- nothing else even close.

Room Tip: All 3 cabins perfect; also a room in the main lodge. Superior quality construction log cabins and a...

A beautiful cabin (keep in mind this is not a four-star hotel room in a big city) in a lovely setting, enhanced by the owner's hospitality, attention to detail and excellent food. The only thing to keep in mind is that it's 18 kilometres from Whitehorse — an advantage for us, possibly a disadvantage for others. If you don't have dinner at the resort, however, there's a good restaurant a couple of minutes down the road. Easily in the category of "I'd go back." I can imagine there will be many days that I think of it in the category of "Wish I were there."

We loved the serenity and privacy of sitting on our own deck of our own cabin and watching the sunset over the mountains to the north. Dinner on the deck of the main lodge was perfectly wonderful as Renate and Wolfgang were the perfect hosts - friendly, welcoming and good natured. The outdoor hot tub was most comforting after a long day of outdoor activities. I will stay here again when I return to The Yukon.

My wife and I stayed 8 nights in the Enzian cabin for 8 nights this summer. We would highly recommend this resort. We've stayed all over the world. (Canada, US, Europe and Asia) and we can't recall staying in a family run resort/B&B that is so clean, so comfortable, so affordable that feels like a real retreat.
Our cabin is the only one with stove and fridge, so if this is important to you, then plan ahead.

Thank you Wolfgang and Renate for an amazing vacation! You were both so knowledgeable and helpful for 2 newbie Yukon visitors.

Planned to spend a couple of days exploring archives in Whitehorse. The NLR&S seemed conveniently located for our needs. Beautiful accommodations in a wide-open vista of the surrounding mountains. Renata and Wolfgang met us as we arrived, helped us get settled, and recommended a nearby restaurant for our evening meal. Even though the restaurant was part of a trailer park, it had excellent food. Ate dinner there twice. Breakfast prepared and served by Wolfgang was delightful (artfully prepared and very tasty). He prepared fresh croissants and breads served with fruit topped yogurt along with cereal eggs and other goodies. Wolfgang delighted in showing us how to use his unique egg-cracking tool. Will definitely return when in the area.

Room Tip: Separate Cabins...all seemed nice. All faced towards view of Northern Lights (not out in the summer...
