“Best hospitallity we ever had”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013 via mobile

We spent 5 nights at this lodge and had the superb experience!

The family running the lodge was so kind and heart warming. We enjoyed a lot chatting with them.

Regarding the lodge, the roon is clean and pretty. It is located a bit away from town, so it is the best environment to challenge the northern lights. No need to join any tour. You could see it in the yard! Or even from your room!

I would definitely like come back.

If I have to say something, I would say the water pressure of the shower was a bit low. That's it.

Thank you very much for the wonderful review Masaya and Asako. Seeing your happiness and smiles everyday at every moments was a real delight, even though when the weather was not so cooperative!
I will have a look at the shower water pressure to see if it can be improved.
We are on a very deep water well and even if we oversized the pump sometime when the demand is high the pressure go down a bit.
Kinds regards from the Yukon

We spent a few days in the Yukon staying at Takhini River Lodge after two weeks touring the Rockies. It was definitely the highlight of our trip. Set in breathtaking scenery the lodge is fantastic...Comfortable, modern but with loads of character, it's the perfect place to chill out and enjoy the wilderness. Our hosts, Christiane and Jean-Marc made us feel very welcome and went out of their way to make our stay very personal and relaxed. It was difficult to have to leave at the end of our holiday...but we're already discussing our next visit to the Yukon and we'll be back at Takhini Lodge hopefully very soon!

My husband surprised me by taking me to Yukon for my birthday...and if it that wasn't amazing enough we stayed at the Takhini River Lodge. The cabin is beautiful, elegant and cozy.. Our room was impeccable and the bathroom was huge!
I loved the delicious food and the view from the dinning area is breathtaking.
Christiane and Jean-Marc took care of every little detail, they are super friendly and helpful. The best hosts and really nice people. I can't wait to go back! I recommend this amazing place without doubt.

Thank you very much for the wonderful review Ana and Cedric. I am so happy that you had a amazing time with us. I am also so happy that you managed to see and photograph the Northern Lights even if the clouds were not so cooperative. Hope to see you again up here or down south.

Magnificent setting in the Yukon wilderness.
The beautiful house is new & very modern - lots of light and immaculate throughout.
Half hour north of Whitehorse - easy to find.
We stayed in the Yukon Art a spacious room with vaulted ceilings and huge bathroom with soaker tub.
Christiane and Jean-Marc are fabulous hosts - they make you feel right at home.
Daily rate includes delicious full breakfast; yogurt with fresh fruits, 2 types of home made breads, omelette.
We also opted for dinner 2 nights - beautifully prepared 3 course dinner - French restaurant quality with a selection of wines. We totally enjoyed our stay and are planning to return!

We spent 3 nights in August in the Yukon Art Room. We received a very friendly welcome from Jean-Marc & Christiane. The lodge was lovely and the food delicious. Christiane makes beautiful small jars filled with Wild Rose Petal and Fireweed Jelly which we had at breakfast. An evening meal of Artic Char with Noilly Prat sauce and Yukon Gold potatoes was exceptonally tasty. We did not rent a car but arranged with Jean-Marc to take us to Lake Laberge as we were very interested to see where Robert Service's poem " The Cremation of Sam McGee" took place. Another day we relaxed on their deck looking at the beautiful scenery and saw a double rainbow.
A most memorable visit.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. It was a real pleasure to drive you around and to share with you a bit of Yukon history, especially about the A.J. Godard Steamboat which sank into Lac Laberge in October 1901.

From the moment I arrived at Takhini River Lodge, Christaine & Jean Marc were there to guarantee my stay was a memorable one. Their attention to details ensured my needs were always met. My beautiful room with comfy bed and ensuite was spotless & provided a welcome respite at the end of each day. The blend of Christaine's french cooking with local foods resulted in fresh & delicious breakfasts each morning. Christaine & Jean Marc have created a luxurious home away from home at Takhini River Lodge & I look forward to my return when I can, once again, be indulged.

The lodge weaves it's magic immediately. Christiane and Jean Marc wanted a light filled space, and have acheived this with a huge open-plan kitchen/dining room, leading through to a comfortable lounge with open stairway to the upper floor. The windows front and back look to distant views beyond the horse's fields. Everything is welcoming and harmonious. Christiane is a lovely hostess and a great cook - well worth booking in for her dinners (local produce cooked with French flair) as well as the excellent breakfasts. We stayed in the Bamboo Room on the ground floor and luxuriated in the comfortable bed and large and beautiful bathroom.

We were surprised to hear that summer is the low season. Yukon is absolutely beautiful at this time, with wild flowers and long, long days. GO now!
