Trip advisor- Regina double tree
My wife and I have now had the opportunityjuyih to stay here twice since it's opening in Nov '13.
The hotel was previously known as the Regina Inn and had been
esthetically upgraded, modern fixtures and room accompaniments.
Unfortunately, structurally the rooms remain the same in size. The bathrooms are very small and the rooms small by newer hotel standards. If you plan to entertain anyone other than two persons total you will find it uncomfortable.
On our second stay we selected one if the two room suites! Excellent and a must if you are business professional or family who desire some space.
The restaurant is very underwhelming. On our first stay we took our 6yr old grandchild. According to the room service menu it states a "homemade Mac n cheese dinner" Wait!! It turned out to literally be kraft dinner, even called such by the server. A small bowl at that for 5.00 with no accompaniments. We ordered "sliders" but were advised they were out? Later I found out they are not made in their kitchen but are processed!
The trip in Dec we were going to order a couple of sirloin strip steaks off if the rm service menu. That is until I was advised the restaurant only had two choices for a potato (mashed or fries) I asked if we could have an order of garlic toast with the meal, was advised they did not have garlic toast.
We ended up ordering "room service" from a rest that delivered!
The resistant probably is the biggest of all disappointments other than the room and bathroom sizes.
NOW the gd! Great customer service, their team truly try their best to make you feel like a welcomed guest! I would have to say the same for the supervisors N management I encountered as well.

Thanks Jim for taking the time to put a review here on Tripadvisor. I do appreciate the kind comments on both the Associates and Managers here at the Newly Renovated DoubleTree by Hilton Regina!

As you are aware our "footprint" for guestroom size was restricted by the date of the Hotels birth as the Regina inn. I believe the room to be very comfortable and I am glad you enjoyed the Suite on your second visit.
I will bring up your comments on Room Service and Wild Sage with my Food and Beverage Director and Chef. We pride ourselves in creating the "Our kitchen is your Kitchen" ambiance and for simple requests as Garlic toast we should have been all over it! My apologies for that and I am sure you will see a much improved product in this respect on your next visit!
Be Well and hope to see you in the New Year!
