“Great park close to Regina/Moose Jaw”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

Wonderful gem of a park, with great camping and other facilities in Southern Saskatchewan. Highlight is the pool, especially when the lake isn't so nice...

“Great hike!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

We were only in Saskatchewan for a long weekend, and wanted to do and see some things we couldn't see at home in Ontario. We opted for this hike based on a review in 'explore' magazine, and we had a great time. The roads getting to it from Regina are not well-marked, and on Thanksgiving weekend the park wasn't staffed as it would be in the summer, so we had a bit of trouble figuring out where to go and where to park. We should have continued driving past the main entrance to the park and started the hike at the end with the buffalo enclosure, and families with young children who want to see the buffalo herd could do that. We ended up parking near the old homestead, which gave us a four km. walk to the enclosure (we didn't do the loop due to time constraints, just went out and back, total of about 8 - 9 km.). We saw gophers, deer, lots of great scenery and at the end we climbed the viewing tower and took in the buffalo herd. It was a great walk, and even the drive up from Regina gave us a sense of the prairie landscape.

“a well maintained campground.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

The water at buffalo pound can be a problem, but the camping facilities are very good. It is a very good family camping experience.
