“expensive, but food is so so”

We don't mind paying more money for good food. We went in thinking it was a higher-end restaurant, but it turned out food was not at all as good as we thought.

“Eateries in Tadoussac”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

Slightly towards the expensive side, but has a decent couple of options for veg food.
Downside - No fries!

“I've had worse...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

We couldn't get a table at Cafe Boheme, so we went to La Galouine. The menu seemed interesting but was a disappointment. We had the chowder and the lobster bisque followed by the salmon and the flounder (fletan). The soups were good, but not exceptional. Both fish plates were covered in a white sauce and served with rice, sauteed veggies and green salad. It was all just okay (rice was dry, veggies were overcooked and drowning in oil), so way too expensive for what it was. The service was distracted even though we went after the usual dinner rush, and everyone seemed bothered/annoyed/inconvenienced by the fact that we came in with a toddler sleeping in an umbrella stroller. Even though it was cool outside, the dining room was uncomfortably hot. I would skip this place in the future.

“the food was good but service was not”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

we ate there with our daughter. We found the food was very good and plates were generous and very well presented. The service was slow and sometimes our waitress just ignored us when she was passing. At the price of this restaurant this is unacceptable to us. If it's because they are too busy .owners should hire more staff in highseason
