My daughter and I seek out Indian restaurants wherever we travel. This seems to be the only Indian restaurant in or near Sherbrooke and was recommended to us by friends in the area.
The restaurant is a small freestanding bright yellow building with outdoor patio seating. Inside was pleasant. Staff speak English and are friendly and accommodating.
When we arrived we found out that it was a buffet night. We have our favorite dishes, and asked if we could order off the regular menu. This turned out to be okay with the chef. We had our usual naan, veg Samosas and Saag Paneer. There is complimentary pappadum. One thing unlike our experience in the U.S. was that rice does not accompany the meal, but is an extra order.
The food was the best I've had since leaving Boston, which is where I began eating Indian food thirty years ago and is still my standard of excellence. Everything was outstanding.
The prices, as with all the restaurants we visited in Quebec, were a few dollars more than we would expect to spend in the States. The addition of the rice as a side dish made this a more pricey meal than we expected, but the food was scrumptious and well worth it.
