“Very, very nice.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

It is so pleasant inside. The waitresses are friendlier than at most restaurants (in the U.S. anyway). Our waitress was nice enough to answer several questions we had about the town and when the tourist season ends. People there (in Quebec City) were, without exception, kind and unassuming. Restaurant L'omelette was the same. And we ate excellently prepared omelettes.

“Basic food slowly served”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

We had eaten at this restaurant twice five years ago, and found it good, so when we were lured in from the street by the hostess, who's stationed outside the front door sitting in the rain, we tried it again. It turned out that the service to get us into the door was the most attentive of the day. The atmosphere is pleasant. The waitresses wear peasant-inspired garb, and look a bit cutesy. We ordered a mushroom and cheese omelette, with no choice of cheese. They apparently don't serve Swiss cheese at all. It was fine for lunch, but don't go there if you're in a hurry... we asked to see the dessert menu, which we received after about 10 minutes, but it took at least another 10 minutes for the waitress to ask if we wanted anything from it (we didn't).

“a good find in a hit-or-miss street”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

Located on rue St.-Louis (tourist central), this is one of the few places that manages good food, reasonable prices, and friendly service. They specialize in not only omelettes, but crepes and other dishes. You can get a reasonably-priced breakfast all day long. Tables are a bit cramped. Onion soup a bit salty, as I often found in Quebec. I was there for lunch only, but everyone around me also seemed to be enjoying themselves, perhaps relieved that they hadn't hit another tourist trap.

“Everything I expected, but still OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

You know the drill, its getting too late for lunch, you're wandering through a touristy area, and you need to pick a place quickly that will satisfy both stomach and wallet before kitchens close for the afternoon.

Meet L'omelette. The kitchen is open, it has a big menu with typical fare - fries, chicken, beef, and of course, omlettes, along with some tasty desserts.

Like the food, the service is good without being great, and you leave satisfied if not enthralled.

“Pleasant and Tasty Casual Dining”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

Hungry in the late afternoon, we came across this inexpensive little restaurant specializing in omelettes and quiches and providing very good value. Service was friendly and sufficiently attentive and our quiche and salad were delicious.
