“Wonderful lunch!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

Took a chance and so happy we did - had a great crispy, thin crust pizza and the amazing Greek salad which was big enough for two to share - so frest and delicious. Tucked into a corner of Place Royale, we sat on the patio and enjoyed the afternoon sun and busyness of the square overlooking Notre-Dame-des-Victoires Church. Perfect afternoon in Nouvelle France ...

“Great Pizza!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

There is certainly no shortage of places to get a pizza in Quebec City. La Pizz, in the corner of Place Royal, is my choice for a superior pizza. Our waiter, whose name escapes me, said we make our pizza with a special, local cheese and I'd be sure to love it. They have a great menu with enough of a choice to appeal to most folks, he was right, the pizza was delicious!

Our meal consisted of, several drinks to warm up, a pizza and salad shared between us, and an aperitif , cognac I believe, with a espresso. Including the 10% tip the bill was 80 dollars. While certainly not cheap, add in good service and a stunning view of Notre Damme and I could have lingered all afternoon.

“Nice patio in the square”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

Went in for a quick lunch on the patio. Great seats at the corner of the square. Ordered a pitcher of sangria - can really taste the red wine and fresh fruits. All they serve is pizza but they have a nice selection! My husband and I shared a 12" pepperoni pizza with anchovies. The crust was thin and crispy. Not the oily, "floppy" kind of thin crust. Perfect size to share for a light lunch on a hot day. Interesting spin on cheese offering swiss instead of the classic mozzarella. Server was pleasant and attentive.

“The used car salesmen of the pizza industry”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

Like most restaurants in Quebec City there is a person standing outside trying to attract customers and answer questions. The thing about this place is, the young man who attracted us in made it very clear to his co-workers each time he attracted customers. He also rushed us very much when it came time order. Then when it came time to pay, we weren't even out of our seats yet and he took our cash and ran over to another employee to tell him how much of a tip he got. The whole operation of the staff was similar to that of used car salesmen. In other words, very shady. The cheese on the pizza is also listed as Swiss cheese. So beware if you don't like Swiss cheese. We did ask for mozarella instead, but who knows what we got. The pizza itself was okay, but nothing to run back for. I've had better airport and service plaza pizza.

“fantastic patio on the square, great pizza”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2012

My husband and I were exhausted from the tacky shops and huge crowds of cruise ship tourists and stumbled upon La Pizz. We were hungry and depleted and we liked the look of the patio with umbrellas that were not covered in advertising but were plain black.

We split a pizza and had some local beer and it was great! Totally nice waiter that asked us if we preferred French or English. The pizza was really tasty and the strong local beers hit the spot. We were surprisingly charmed after feeling a bit cynical about how touristy that district is. Sitting on the square was a special treat. We actually did not even go inside so I have no idea about the interior. Highly recommended for a summertime snack or lunch!
