“Was very impressed!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

We really enjoyed this restaurant. There are 2 sides. One with a simple menu and the other more sophisticated. We opted for the simpler menu since we were travelling with kids. Don't let the simple menu fool you. The presentation was well done, the portions were generous and the food was delicious. The prices were reasonable and the service was very good. We would definitely return.

“Too expensive for what you get”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

We enjoyed a nice family meal on the terrasse of the Manoir, overlooking th Falls and nearby Ile d'Orleans. Service was OK, but we had to consistently ask for things, there was very little pro-activity.
The quality of the lunch experience was according to standards, but nothing to write home about. It was just too expensive for what you get, considering we were two adults with four kids.

“Just okay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

They do have the monopoly on food choices at Montmorency Falls. It was a pleasant enough atmosphere, but the food was only so-so. Like all restaurants in Canada, it is expensive.

“A nice surprise at the top of the cable car journey.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

This is a nice well maintained Manor House between the top cable-car station and the falls, where you can get a drink or a nice lunch on the terrace, and watch the world go by.

“From bad to worse”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

Us: "A table for 2 people please"
Manager: "Did you see the menu? Because you have to eat and it's dinner menu."
Us: "Yes we did". Manager insisted to show us the menu, totally ignoring our response. (Was he afraid we couldn't afford the price since we were dressed casually?) That's the impression we got.
I ordered 2 entrees (since none of the main dish appealed to me) and a main course for my boyfriend. We asked to bring all the dishes at the same time.
Waitress (Celine): "Heuhh...we can't do that, how about bringing 2 entrees and the main course after". After I insisted, waitress said: "Well, I'll have to see with the chef if that's possible!".

I ordered 'tataki salmon' and it came as an over-cooked salmon.
Me: "Isn't the tataki salmon supposed to be raw inside?"
Confused waitress: "I don't know... I'll speak with the chef." Meanwhile she asked the manager and we overheard him confirming that a tataki is grilled outside and raw inside. Waitress is now evading us, never came back for any explanation until I called her and inquired.
Waitress: "Well it's clearly written smoked tataki salmon and this is how the chef has always serve this dish." Obviously, waitress and manager were useless, none had the decency to apologise and make any effort in correcting their mistake.
Cherry on the cake, at the end with an accusing tone, she asked my boyfriend how come he didn't eat that particular thing in his dish, as he's supposed to eat it with the fish!!!

Atrocious service, barely okay food and never mind the view... when seated you see nothing. An utterly disappointing experience.
