Description: Total EnjoymentIn the gourmet world of Le Continental, traditional cuisine is classical. Enjoy the perfect service, the great flambéed dishes that pay tribute to the delicious French cuisine. The Continental's wine cellar is most impressive with its board of famous selection of French, Italian and American wines. It offers a choice of more than five thousand bottles, four hundred different varieties from Grands Crus classés to affordable prices.

“Old fashioned, high quality, all-around worth it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2009

The Continental is an old-fashioned French restaurant, where they prepare a Caesar salad tableside. Their specialties are also the flambe dishes, and steaks (Entrecote and Filet) prepared tableside as well. Everything is first class, and the service, including the table service, is excellent. I give the food 4 of 5 because the steak was slightly overdone. Since I know in general to order medium-rare, it came out fine.

What is also surprising is the size of the portions. They were quite generous, without being overwhelming. But much larger than today's modern restaurants which give you 1/2 sizes and charge double. One rarely calls a restaurant like this a great value, but it is (not that that is why you should go, because it is hardly inexpensive). If you order the sampler for dessert (small sizes of three different desserts, it's more than enough for 2. Call this your evening activity, because you should not rush the experience. Relax and enjoy.

“Greatest Flambe' Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2009

Le Continental, located within the walls of Quebec City is an elegant old-style flambe' restaurant. The food was spectacular, but the "show" the waiters put on while they flambe' your selection table-side was very special. The waiter we had has been working there his entire career and is set to retire in about 3 years so the level of professional waiters with the service to go along with it was evident the entire evening. A top notch experience.

“An imperfect end to an almost perfect evening”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2009

Outstanding food, ambience, and they are out of raspberry sorbet! How can you run out of something frozen?
We had a delightful dinner with excellent service in a wonderful setting. The man at the next table had raspberry sorbet for dessert and I immediately knew that was what I would have. After our Caeser salad and Chateaubriand for two it would be a perfect light dessert. We placed our order and the waiter came back to announce he was sorry but they were out of raspberry sorbet.
To say it was disappointing would be an understatement.

“Elegant Food, Elegant Service, Elegant Atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2009

We have been eating at Le Continental ever since our first trip to Quebec City in 1971. Le Continental always pleases. It is beautifully decorated, quiet, romantic. The service is superb. But, the most outstanding feature is the wonderful food, especially the flambees. The desserts are not to be missed either.

One of the highlights of our frequent trips to Quebec is always dinner at Le Continental.
