“Friendly and Relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2013

Had a great casual dinner with the family here while recovering from the sticker shock of some of the higher-end places in QC. Food is just pub fare, but it's plenty tasty. I'm not much of a beer drinker, but there is a tempting selection of all kinds of weird brews that practically compel you to try them!

“Good pub for beer and music”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

They have 200+ beers with lots of draft ones. If you are into Scotch, they have 40+ of those plus a decent selection of wines. We enjoyed live folk music on Sunday afternoon. They also have full live bands most nights. Snacks were onion rings which were excellent. The food at adjacent tables looked OK but not great for price. Food prices are quite expensive. Service was good and very friendly.

“Overpriced but good beer selection. Food poor”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2013

I love beer and love beers from all over the world. So this bar was an easy sell for me. But when you charge $9.25 for a pint of Canadian (easily one of the worst beers on the menu) there is a problem.

The food was mediocre and extremely over priced. The beer selection was grway though. So if you are in the mood for good beer and are feeling flush with cash then go to the St Alexander Pub. Otherwise I'd grab food elsewhere.

“just ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

There was nothing bad about this pub. We had been dining in romantic places all week, and thought pub food might be a good change of pace. It isn't particularly cute or enchanting, it looks like a pub. The music, when you could hear it, was cool. It was a little crowded and our table was small. The food was ok. My steak and fries was good, and my wife enjoyed her salmon. Those two meals along with two glasses of house wine came to about $70, which I found pricey for pub food.
Overall, not bad, but not memorable either. Maybe we just got spoiled by all the other choices in this lovely city.
