Description: Le Chic Shack is a new gourmet burger/milk shake restaurant opened in June 2012. We also serve poutines, fries and salads. For dessert, we offer milk shakes and ice cream sandwiches. The owners of Le Chic Shack are the sister-brother team of Lucy and Evan Price. They are also owners of the renowned Auberge Saint-Antoine and Panache restaurant in Quebec City. Located in a historic building owned by their family for five decades, Le Chic Shack reflects their culinary and interior design expertise. In creating their new restaurant, Lucy and Evan worked closely with their management team of Antoine Martin and Chef Mikael Garneau, both previously of Panache, The Culinary Edge of San Francisco (California) and their local supplier base.Beyond our tasty recipes, these are some features that make Le Chic Shack stand out:* patties from grass-fed beef* brioche buns made by local artisan baker Eric Borderon* sweet potato fries (along with fries from white potatoes)* uniquely built poutines - from side to main course dishes* milk shakes and ice cream sandwiches made with the ice cream of local artisan Clara Langhi* our own fruit sodas and ice tea* draft beer from the local Archibald brewery* draft wine selected by the sommelier of the Panache restaurant* the dynamism and energy of an open kitchen* a relaxed dining environment with tremendous views of the Chateau Frontenac through large French windowsLe Chic Shack is located on the Place d'Armes in the Vieux-Quebec (Old Quebec), facing the Chateau Frontenac and below the Musee du Fort.

“burger with a flair”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2014

great burger, great poutine, great shake. First the burger 10 different ones, making it extremely hard to choose, they all look good. Samething for the poutine. The shake is served in a Mason jar and topped with wipped cream

“Great lunch!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2014

Had poutine with wild mushroom and house made gravy alongside a dark chocolate and kahlua smoothie - Fabulous! Charming rustic decor inside and they have tables set up by the window so you can watch the old city while you eat. Great place to eat.

“Quick, good food, nice atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2014

This is an excellent spot for lunch. However, it is not cheap. For two of us to have lunch with two alcoholic beverages, it was $50. People are very friendly and the food was tasty. The menu is mostly burgers but the salads are amazing here. We sat at a table for two that faces the street and it was so fun to sit and people watch. Certainly try out this cute spot.

“Not fine dining but good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2014

I like to eat at places with a great ambiance when I travel but sometimes you have to watch your budget or just eat where the good food is. This place fills the bill in both cases. It's right in front of the Frontenac in the same bldg. as the Musee du Port. You get a number on a wooden tag, a roll of recycled paper towels for makeshift napkins and placemats and you go up to the counter to order yourself. A waiter will bring your food to you. Be sure to remember your number when you go up to order. Your tag stays hanging on the wooden post holding the paper towels. There are some window seats with great views of the square. I ordered a burger that was above average. My husband ordered the poutine so we could finally find out "what the heck is this poutine stuff?" To me it looked like a cut up baked potato in some gravy with cheese curds here and there. It tasted pretty good but I'd want to try some of the more elaborate ones. They make their own soda drinks. Pretty pricey at $3.50 for a soda glass full to the top with crushed ice. They make fresh fruit purees for the sodas. I told the cashier I didn't know which to get...mango or raspberry. She said "get ½ & ½" which I did and it was good enough for me to order another. So there's $7 bucks just for what amounted to one soft drink if you took away all the ice. But I did mention that it WAS really good.
No ambiance to speak of but food was better than some of the meals I paid way more for in QC.

“Wonderful burgers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2014

During our 2+ day stay in Quebec City, we ate at Le Chic Shack twice. The burgers are fantastic and we tried 3 varieties. The milk shake was very good, but the home made sode drink was not well liked. The fries were also fantastic. We went back the second time for poutine. We tried the classic poutine and were surprised that the gravy and cheese curds are over roasted potatoes, not french fries. We were a little disappointed, since the french fries had been so good. You definitely should eat here during your visit to Old Quebec City!
