While looking for a place to stay in Old Quebec, we weren't sure which of the many hotels in the core of the village we would stay at. Were very glad that we picked the Champlain. First of all, it was one of the only hotels which offered parking - something hard to find in Old Quebec. But the hotel was so conveniently located that we didn't take the car out once, we walked everywhere. Secondly, we weren't sure what to expect out of the room itself in a hotel which is small and quaint and not a big chain hotel. We were not disappointed. The room was spacious (we were even upgraded), the bed was very comfortable, it was modern, there was a small electric fireplace which was a great bonus, and the bathroom was clean, also modern, and had a great shower. The shower itself even had shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel from Fruits and Passions! Thirdly, the breakfast buffet was small however it seemed to be all home made (bread, orange juice, etc), and was very tasty. Last but not least, the free espresso machine. This machine makes specialty coffees, hot chocolate, and has hot water for the variety of teas that are available to guests 24/7. In our short stay I'd say we visited the espresso machine 2-3 times per day! All in all, a great hotel and we would without a doubt stay here again!
