Trois Balcons is a lovely place to stay, great location in a part of the city that feels less touristy than inside the walls of Vieux Quebec, yet walkable to everything. Beautiful art graces the walls, nice music at breakfast-- and what a meal. A light and airy chocolate croissant and other breads, omelette with herbs and tomato cooked directly for you, followed by poached pear and chocolate sauce. The hostess Isabelle speaks good English for those of us who need it., and shares her cooking secrets.

    • Disliked — i prefer B&B's to seat guests at one table to encourage talking, rather than separate tables.

My wife and I stayed at Trois Balcons while visiting Quebec City to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. This B & B has wonderful ambiance and the owner, Isabelle, makes you feel right at home. The rooms are very comfortable and kept spotlessly clean. Her presentation of the breakfasts makes you feel like your at the Chateau Frontenac - except better because it is home made and served to you with a wonderful smile. The Trois Balcons is perfectly situated - just around the corner from Rue Cartier where there are several great restaurants such as the wonderful Italian restaurant called Momentos. There is an East Indian restaurant, bistros and just about anything your heart desires. Would we stay at Trois Balcons again? YOU BET WE WOULD!!!

Aux Trois Balcons was a good choice for a short stay in Quebec. It is situated very near the Battlefields Park and Musee de beaux arts de Quebec just off the main road called Grand Allee. It is about 25 minutes walk to Old Quebec but there is a bus which runs along the main road that you can use although we never did.The room was very clean the decor good and the bathroom was well equipped. The only downside was that the room we had was rather dark. The hostess Isabelle was very helpful and pointed out some good places to eat in the streets nearby. We tried the Sirocco which was a mediterranean type restaurant it was very good. I think it was on Boulevard Renee Levesque. If you want to splash out on a dining experience try Aux Anciennes Canadiennes in Old Quebec.

The breakfasts served in a very pleasant sunny dining room with soothing music were wonderful and set you up for the day. There was something different each day and a large selection of teas including herbal to choose from. Overall we thought it a good value for accommodation in Quebec city.

We stayed for 4 nights to take in some of the Winter Carnavale, and this b&b couldn't have been better. The rooms were clean and nice, the owner is incredibly nice and helpful (she gave some great restaurant recommendations), and the breakfasts were INCREDIBLE.

We would easily stay at the Trois Balcons again for another trip to Quebec.

Stayed here for 5 nights. Was attracted by the fabulous sounding breakfasts on their website. I was not disappointed.

Woke up each morning to find my way to the dining room where I was served amazing breakfasts. It's a real plus when the B and B hostess used to run a restaurant. I tried cretons (a pate like spread), glazed pears with whipped cream and chocolate, waffles with chocolate and maple sugar, cheese omelettes, baked apples, frittate, crepes with apple and maple syrup......5 amazing breakfasts.

Located conveniently just off of Cartier street where i was directed where i could buy much better maple syrup in larger and cheaper quantites than in the tourist traps downtwon. The B and B was a 7 minute walk from my conference hotel. Also, the B and B was right beside the big part of which the Plains of Abraham are a part. Nice place for jogging. A community centre where a pool with lane swim is 5 minutes up Cartier street.

My bedroom was large. High ceilings. Private bathroom. A quiet and confortable place to sleep. I hope you get to stay here. They were pretty booked up the weekend I left.
