We got a voucher from groupon for four person at Ocean Grill on Quatre-Bourgeois. We bought the coupon the first time this restaurant appeared on Groupon and it clearly indicated no restriction of choice in the menu except the tataki de thon. Apparently they changed their policy when they appeared the second time on Groupon because we was caught by surprise when they presented us with a limited menu for customer with groupon. Thus, we were already disappointed at the beginning of the diner.
The restaurant Ocean Grill on Quatre-Bourgeois is new and nicely decorated. It was a bit noisy but created nice atmosphere. The service is impeccable with our nice waiter but he did not introduce himself so we did not know his name. We tried four entrees: soup, salmon tartare, fried squid, and escargot. They are all good. Then we tried three main courses: Ocean seafood plates, surf and turf and 30 shrimps plate. The steak was well cooked for medium rare but the butterfly shrimp did not have any taste. The same untasted for the seafood plate. The coquille St-Jaques had a very weird sour taste, due to the cheese they used or due to old food materials, we did not know. However, the rice and the vegetable were good. We tried four desserts: ice cream, sugar pie, chocolate cake and fried cheese rolls. The best dessert was the chocolate cake, then the sugar pie. The ice cream was the regular kind in grocery store. And the cheese rolls were awful. They tasted exactly like the Philadelphia cheese directly from the box. Aren't we supposed to mix the cheese with cream in dessert recipe ?
For the regular price of the food, you better go to Vieux Duluth or La Gironde, you can bring your wine and the food is much better.
