Description: It's the story about a meeting on the set of Les chefs in 2010. It's also the story about a common passion expressed today in their menu of boreal inspirations. Northern cuisine offers a unique re-imagination of our local regional products, to the rhythm of our seasons. Elk, fish, elderflower and wintergreen play an integral part in our inventive menu. A surprising mix of culinary traditions and international influences. Bistro style and boreal inspiration join forces to create gourmet pleasures.

“Delicious food in a beautiful room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful meal at Chez Boulay during our visit to Quebec. The dining room is comfortable and open. My husband ordered a veal chop and I had the halibut special. Both were well prepared and the sauces were excellent. The sides were inconsistent. The beets with my halibut were somewhat bitter, but the green bean puree was surprisingly good. My husband had mushrooms with his veal that were great, but the "prairie" rice was under seasoned. Service was very attentive and faster than most other meals we have had in the city. Cost was very reasonable for the quality of the meal and dining experience. We would definitely visit again.

“Disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

We were disappointed with this meal. The restaurant and chef got a lot of hype, but the food was just okay and not worth the cost. Also our service was not great. One of our sides was forgotten and brought when we were basically finished with our entree. For the cost and the hype we expected better food and much better service.

“Creative Menu, fun waitstaff and a non-stuffy great meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

We were just there with a party of four, ages 24 to 64 and had a terrific time. The cappuccino onion soup was terrific as was the Arctic char and the scallops dish. We found the wait staff, young, fun and not perfect but truly delightful, attentive and considering the location on a packed tourist street really capable and efficient. But be warned this is not a stuffy setting nor is the menu extensive but it is creative, yummy and unique. A definite switch from tourist cafes and French influenced food. I would go again in a minute.

“Mixed Bag”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

We came to this restaurant because we heard it was exceptional. We were a little disappointed. Although some of our dishes WERE exceptional, others were just mediocre. Service was spotty, with waiters arriving with the next course, without the dishes from the previous course cleared and silverware was not replaced between courses. We did not expect these types of lapses at a restaurant of this caliber and price. The menu, however, was interesting and varied.

“contemporary & tasty Nordic inspired foods”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

4.5 stars...we dined there on our last nite at QC and it was a refreshing change from the usual French Canadian foods. yes, they have menu in English. the decor is contemporary yet relaxing. this is one of those restaurants that you want to taste every single items on the menu. the ingredients are definitely fresh and chefs' preparations are fantastic. seems not busy during lunch time, maybe due to limited choice of entrees. wait staffs were young, attentive, and professional.
