This is a wonderful, affordable bed and breakfast located in the Faubourg Saint-Jean neighborhood, just outside the walls of the old city. The rooms were comfortable and the shared bathroom posed no problem since this B&B only has three rooms. Breakfasts were gourmet with crepes, omelettes, and French toast amongst other choices.
All the sites of the old city are within easy walking distance, but located in an authentic neighborhood away from most tourists and conventioneers. Au Croissant de Lune is located a block away from Saint-Jean Street which is lined with shops, restaurants, and bars. There are excellent epicurean markets, boulangeries (bakeries), and ice cream/candy shops within a three block walk. The stores serve the neighborhood and not tourists, so they are authentic and of great quality. A real Québécois experience can be had buying fresh local foods, in the friendly stores. Not everyone in Quebec is fluent in English, but everyone was helpful upon asking "Parlez-vous Anglais?" All encountered knew sufficient English to facilitate our transactions.
I would highly recommend this B&B for couples or single tourists. The owners provide warm hospitality and are very helpful providing excellent sightseeing suggestions and insight.
