“A beautiful B&B in Quebec”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

My girl friends and I visited Quebec City to celebrate my 50th birthday. We spent 3 nights at the Castel du Monde and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We felt like we're staying at one of our close friends' home. The rooms were big, clean and decorated very nicely. The breakfast was delicious with fresh fruits, nuts, cheese, bread and a hot dish each day. We brought in food one evening and enjoyed dinner on the terrace which had a great view of the Château Frontenac. This B&B was close to all the major attractions, shopping and restaurants. Jolanta was very kind, helpful and accommodating. The location and the hospitality of this B&B made it possible for us to have so many wonderful memories and make our trip so special. We would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Quebec City.

My significant other and I felt so fortunate to have chosen this B&B for our very first visit to Quebec City. Yolanta was so welcoming on our arrival, had keys organized for our room and for getting in the main entrance. We had mentioned that we needed no more than one flight of stairs as one of us had difficulties with climbing stairs, and it was wonderful to find that we had a room on the ground floor. It was spacious with an ensuite bathroom and was full of interesting antiques and modern art works (as was the whole B&B), with a little sitting area, desk, and a refrigerator. There was air conditioning, plenty of cupboard and dresser space, and a wonderfully comfortable bed. Instructions how to get more supplies without having to ask were available even though we had plenty of towels, soap products, etc. already. Breakfasts were a delight, arranged in buffet style, and always with a hot dish as well as many other options-cold meats, cheese, eggs, fresh fruit beautifully arranged, cereals, tea and coffee. We looked forward to breakfast each day with relish. Although it was a very quiet locale, we were only minutes away from the interesting sights, good restaurants, shops, and very near to the tour buses and information center. We enjoyed walking around, leaving the car in a nearby car park until we left for good. Yolanta was so helpful and pleasant. I will never forget her kindness and her elegant ways. We look forward to our next visit to Quebec and will be telling our friends about this lovely B&B.

Room Tip: I suspect that all rooms are spacious, and if you can climb stairs, the views on the second and thir...

Jolarta makes you feel right at home, even from planning over the phone to arrival. She was so pleasant and helpful. The accommodations were wonderful, clean, spacious, great breakfasts, and location is perfect. We were there in July for several days and have wonderful memories and experiences from this trip. We plan to return there again and have told all of our friends!

Thanks again for everything!

Room Tip: We loved being on the top floor with the balcony overlooking the area

We spent 4 nights here and I am very glad that out of all the options in QC we chose this one. Our hostess was gracious, friendly and very helpful. As other reviewers have mentioned, the decor is very eclectic, fun and interesting. Breakfast was good, lots of fruits, breads, meat and always a hot dish. Our room was up only one flight of stairs with a private balcony-very nice place to relax in the evenings, although the view was better from the third floor balcony as the trees obscured our view (of the Fontenac) The building is very old so the bath and shower in our room was pretty small but OK. It is a great location, quiet and close to most attractions. There is a coin laundry just a block and a half away which was a nice surprise too. Our hostess was always available to us, answered questions, helped us with directions, ect. I would highly recommend this lovely B&B.

Room Tip: rooms are very quiet, ask for a private balcony if you can climb steps.

We stayed at Castel du Monde for 4 nights. We could not have chosen a better B&B! The location is perfect -- in the heart of the upper town in Old Quebec. A short walk (under 10 minutes) will get you to many of the best tourist sights in town. Just a block away you will find plenty of great restaurants, shops, and other attractions. But it's also very peaceful and quiet when you are in the rooms. Our room (Richeliu?) was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and unbelievably spacious. Very comfortable bed; high ceilings; a/c unit in the room for temperature control; great strong water pressure in the shower; additional small nook off the corner of the room with a desk and refrigerator. The B&B also has a terrace off the 3rd floor with a couple tables and chairs, and BEAUTIFUL views of the city -- a great place to enjoy some wine & cheese before heading out to dinner. Breakfast is served buffet style, and there are plenty of options -- always a hot egg-type dish, a variety of pastries, spreads, and cheeses, cereal, fruit, etc. Jolanta is a very gracious and generous host. We will definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: We stayed in "Richeliu", which we loved, but I'm sure all the rooms are great.

Castle du Monde is in a great location in Old Quebec. The price was reasonable, rooms clean and the breakfast was delicious with a lot of variety. The owner was very conscientious. Room decor a little wacky, but loved it. Would definitely stay there again. Couldn't go wrong with this B & B

My partner and I stayed here in July 2013. Yolante greeted us on arrival. If she couldnt be there, there were well organised room keys. Our spacious room with ensuite and sitting room was on first floor with access to a huge verandah with city views. The whole hotel and our room was very clean and fabulously furnished with hand picked antiques.
Yolante was a gracious host, very friendly and a mine of information. The breakrfasts were yummy with a variety of hot and cold food, all prepared by Yolante.
Yolante loves her home and it shows. Would recommend this B and B to anyone and the price was right!!!

Room Tip: We stayed in room "Papindoe???" at top of first stairs. Light airy and large with plenty o...
