“First-class hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

What a lovely hotel in a very good location. OK, it's not actually in the vieux ville, but it's only a short walk (bit of a climb, but well worth it). The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Service and the food quality at breakfast were excellent. This is highly recommended.

This beautiful hotel is located in the picturesque, historic lower town of Quebec City. We were upgraded (to a junior suite) which made the whole experience even nicer. The rooms are really lovely, with big comfortable beds. The wifi was complimentary and worked consistently and well. There are lots of restaurants close by and the concierge made helpful recommendations. The gym is small, as in most hotels, but intelligently fitted out so it was easy to do a proper work-out. Breakfast was served in the fine dining restaurant, which was sunny with an outlook onto the port. It was slightly unusual in that there was no breakfast buffet and instead you had to order off the menu. Everything was very good quality at breakfast (with one exception that the scrambled eggs were dry rather than soft and creamy). Staff in the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Fabulous boutique hotel in a marvellous position by the St Lawrence in old Quebec City. Beautifully appointed with excellent, but low-key service: very professional, friendly and courteous. Fabulous rooms, again, fabulously appointed with all the services you would expect of such a place. Two very large beds. Breakfast is quite superb: excellent choices from a menu, beautifully served and presented - even includes an amouse-bouche!

Can't wait to come back.

We stayed in room 302 with a great view of the Seaway. The room was simple in design and in our opinion lacked any charm. Limited drawer space, reverse faucets in the bathroom and drapes that did not block out light contrary to what we were told when we booked. Some traffic noise. Very comfortable room and good room service for breakfast. Not our best nor our worst experience. I don't think all rooms are the same based on internet pictures so you should do your own homework.

A sophisticated yet understated gem in the lower part of old Quebec City. A Relais & Chateaux property, this beautiful auberge is perfectly located just steps from the St. Lawrence, many highlight sites/sights and the city's best restaurants including Panache in the hotel. The bi-lingual staff are friendly, knowledgable and eager to be helpful. A premium priced hotel, it is worth the expense to stay in this very special place.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 314. Large space with king bed, lounge chair and ottoman, desk and upholstered cha...

An upscale and very comfortable modern hotel situated in port of "le Vieux Québec".
The hotel is built on land which was part of the original port. Many of the artifacts discovered during the excavation of the site are on display in the hotel.
The staff are attentive, helpfull, and bilingual. There is on site parking for which there is a charge.
My wife and I always stay here when we are in Québec, which is about 8 days per year.
Try to get a room which has a river view. Being in the old part of town some of the rooms look out on blank walls or dark narrow streets.
Le Panache, the restaurant which is part of the hotel is excellent and is arguably the best eating place in town.

Great location in the lower town, near some good restaurants (L'Echaudé was a standout). Lots of artful touches throughout the hotel with well-designed public spaces that were comfortable too. Loved the stunning mix of stone and brick in our room, and the excellent lighting and temperature control. Plush towels, slippers and robes were a plus, as was the well-stocked Nespresso machine. The rain shower provided a bracing wake-up in the morning while a soak in the deep tub was a good way to unwind at the end of the day. The staff were all very friendly and quick to respond to every request. A special shout-out to Evelyn at the concierge desk and Maxim in the dining room. Also kudos to the talented pastry chef for the tasty marshmallows and lime caramels that appeared in an unexpected gift basket, yum!
