“Expected better based on high reviews.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2012

We went to this cafe as the reviews were so high. I was disappointed, I expected more based on the reviews. The cappuccino was good. We had two sandwiches that were ok... Nothing to rave about.

“Very dangerous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2012

Croissant with sauce bearnaise, anyone?? Steer clear if 3000 calories is not what you're looking for in Quebec City... Very spacious and well lit restaurant, great for a casual family breakfast. Lovely concept, but too bad it doesn't exist in Toronto or Montreal.

“Best in Old Quebec”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2012

If you don't want to wait for a table, this is the place for the most authentic French fare. The bread is the best I have ever tasted. The sandwiches with their French bread melts in your mouth, just like the croissants! I highly recommend that you visit Paillard more than once if you are in town. Bravo!

Great breakfast spot if you're in the mood for a great selection of fresh pastries. Good service and the food was very good.

“Great pastries, bread, coffee, snacks, atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2012

We stayed at the Courtyard just 3 minutes walk down the road. We nipped in and picked up pastries to munch on, as well as some coffee to go. The artisan bread is fabulous, and their brioches aux raisins heavenly. Everything is superb. There's a reason they are listed in Conde Nast, Fodors and so many other places as THE place to go for a croissant and coffee in Quebec. And that's saying a lot, since there are so many places to go!
