We (my wife and I and two daughters) stayed her for three nights en route from Toronto to New York, as we planned to get a couple of days skiing at Mont Sainte Anne. The hotel is perfectly situated on the edge of the charming old town, with views over the Parliament building. We had two first floor suites including the one used by Edith Piaf: these were real art deco trasures and the bathroom was larger than many hotel rooms I have stayed in. The management was extremely helpful and the buffet breakfast, included in the price, wasn't lavish in its variety but was good and plentiful. This is a perfect base for exploring Quebec City - although the hotel has no bar or restaurant it is just round the corner from many good ones, including the Parmesan Italian restaurant, which at first sight looks like a 1970s cliche but has such excellent food (including home cured Prosciutto) and switched-on service that we ate there on all three evenings!

The one blemish was the fact that the hot water ran out after half a bath. I don't know if Mme Piaf was given to skiing, but if she had returned from a day on the slopes to a bathful which wouldn't cover even her slight frame, I doubt she would have come back. The first time was forgivable but, when it happened the second afternoon as well, I did get a little cross. However it was just an oversight and they were sincere in their apologies, and this shouldn't be allowed to tarnish a truly excellent hotel.

The accomodation was in a good location for exploring the upper town, near the fort and city walls. On arrival we were offered a choice of two rooms and both were great, opted for the smaller room at the top of the house at it was more cosy given the cold weather.

Room was clean, tidy and well furnished. The atmosphere was very relaxed and homely, with the owner going out of their way to assist us planning activities for our stay and recommending good restaurants. Also he helped us book our next accomodation in Montreal and got us a really good rate.

Would definitely go back if visiting Qubec again.

We stayed three nights at this delightful bed and breakfast. Our room was spacious, immaculate and looked out over the park. With windows we could open, we went to sleep each night with the sound of carriages passing on the cobblestone streets. The room decor was elegant and deco; the king sized bed extremely comfortable, and the shower, with 7 showerheads, was really an experience. The location of the hotel is excellent, just inside the old city walls...convenient to everything in both the old and new sections of Quebec City, on what has to be one of the most beautiful streets in town. The staff was helpful with restaurant suggestions and travel directions, which was most appreciated. The only downside to this experience was the breakfast, which, as others have said, was primarily continental-style, with toast, pastries from an offsite bakery, coffee and tea, cold cereals, yogurt and fruit. On the last morning we were there, nothing in the breakfast was replenished midway through, so we were unable to get yogurts or several of the fruits.
During our stay, we glimpsed several other rooms, and should mention that there seems to be quite a variation in room sizes and styles. We would absolutely request the room we had again, however. It was wonderful and more than suited our needs. Overall, we loved being there and look forward to returning to this charming city and to our room in this auberge.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. The location is perfect: close enough to the main attractions, yet far enough to have a quiet stay.
The room we had was huge. Bed & bathroom (with tub) were perfect. Breakfast was OK.
All in all a great place if you're looking for a nice & quiet hotel in Quebec.
