“Good stay & nice place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013

Hi thanks for a very pleasant stay. The room (105) I thought was a little small and dark but actually perfectly pleasant for a solo traveller and in a marvellous spot overlooking the park (except with trees in full leaf, I couldn't actually see Terrasse Dufferin and the St Laurence. DIdn't bother with breakfast but good to have orange juice tea coffee etc on demand and available WiFi and internet (even though it didn't like me and kept throwing me out of email). Thanks to staff for even opening the wine for me without charging corkage! You wouldn't get that often in UK!

(3 tiny quibbles, the remote to the tv didn't have a back on it and wouldn't work all the time, as the batteries kept falling out; and the wall paper could do with a little TLC. Also the power socket seemed a bit wobbly but I think that was because my adapter was heavy!)

Other than that, very good overall experience (better than my neighbour on train who was at Frontenac and was disturbed by the construction work!)

Quebec is a beautiful city and I may well stay with you again!

As I get older and my window is narrowing, now is the time to go see the places I have always wanted to see. Quebec City was one such place. After reading the Trip Advisor reviews, I chose this small hotel in the most ideal location. My room was small, a little cramped with a boring view of the parking lot, still it was ok. The staff were great, especially the night clerk Maria who greeted you in the morning with a smile and a kind word. Great place for a lone traveller.

Room Tip: ASK to see the room first. I ended up looking at a parking lot!

Bonjour 620 caseay,
We are always happy to hear that our staff is going the extra mile and offering the best customer service to our clients. We will share your comments with Maria. We feature several types of rooms next time you may select a larger room facing the river. Johanne Caron

We stayed at this hotel for our twentieth wedding anniversary and it was wonderful. We had a deluxe room which was large and lovely with the view of a park and the river. We came in on a romance package and they arranged our dinners and carriage ride. Both dinners were outstanding. The very best thing about the hotel is the location, just far enough away from the noise of the city but walking distance to everything. I would stay here again!

Perfect location for walking the beautiful city of Quebec! Room was clean and well decorated. Our room faced the park and the St. Lawrence. Free breakfast was enjoyable. Staff was extremely accommodating. My only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 stars is the price, which was high. There was a surcharge for parking the car. Would definitely stay there again when in Quebec City....despite the price!

Room Tip: Good views if you face the park!

We chose Hotel Chateau Bellevue based on friend's recommendation and was perfect. Because it was an anniversary trip, we chose the Prestige Room. I requested a top floor and that's exactly what we got - a large corner room with a view of the river. Being the peak of summer, the trees in the Governor's Park obscured the view of the Chateau Frontenac which is kitty corner to the hotel.

The room condition was perfect, many amenities and spotless. The front desk personnel were very helpful especially when making the phone reservations. Housekeeping and valet staff were prompt and efficient. We did have an auto which cost an additional$17 a day. A continental breakfast is included, coffee was excellent as was the various fruit breads. The seating area is minimal and crowded so we brought our food to our room which for us worked because of our large sitting area.

As others have written, it is a perfect location, one block from the Boardwalk and St. Louis St. Being high tourist season and facing two streets, we were very glad to have double windows. Those sensitive to street noise may prefer a room facing the back.

Just wanted to say thank you for a wonderful stay. The service was impeccable. Our room was perfect. Funny story, my boyfriend and I were traveling to Quebec City for the night and we mixed up the dates. Showed up to the hotel a day late! (who does that?!) Anyway, the staff was amazing and sympathetic and luckily were able to accommodate us. We were thrilled and grateful. Will definitely be back. Thank you Chateau Bellevue.

Stayed at the Chateau Bellevue for 3 nights in June and had a very enjoyable stay so much so I wish we had stayed longer. The location is excellent just behind the Chateau Frontenac and within easy walking distance of the Upper and Lower Towns and the Citadelle. Directly opposite is the Governers Gardens a very leafy park which leads down to the Dufferin Terrace and its wonderful views across the St Lawrence.

We had rooms 307 and 309 which are at the front of the hotel and look onto the park, part of the ceiling is angled due to the slope of the roof. The room is well decorated brown and biege being the predomitary colours, nice comfortable Queen Bed, desk, TV, armchair and small wardrobe. I did not find the rooms dated but I certainly think the corridors need to be refreshed. Bathroom small but not cramped again clean and a good shower.

The staff on reception were very polite and helpful and assisted in confirming a day trip when I was trying to contact the local tour company but had been given the wrong telephone number by Expedia. Breakfast was ok, I think I was expecting a little bit more choice but the free refreshments during the day and the delicious crepes at breakfast helped.

Definetly will stay here again. Merci Beaucoup
