My family & I recently stayed at the hotel and found the facility to be old but charming. The location can not be beat. It's better than the Chateau Frontenac because of the terrific view of the Frontenac from the hotel. Each morning the staff delivered a continental breakfast to the room. We were fortunate to stay on Canada Day (July 1st) and watched the military ceremonies from our balcony overlooking the Terrasse Dufferin Boardwalk and the St. Lawrence River. Interesting sidelight-- it's attached to the US Consulate in Quebec so there was a police officer stationed outside the hotel almost every day. A word of warning- there is no elevator and no bell hops to carry your luggage. So pack light or book a room on the ground floor (not the 1st floor which is up two flights of stairs); but if you do that, you give up the view and luxury of a room with a balcony.
