“Modern and comfortable hotel for business or vacation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

I stayed here during Carnaval for a combination work/vacation trip. The lobby to the hotel is very modern and minimalist. It's very black and white with lots of smooth polished surfaces. Location-wise, it is in the St-Roch district and about a 20 minute uphill walk to Old Quebec. It's not inconveniently located, but if you want to be really close to all the touristy sights and activities, this probably isn't the place to be. Price-wise, it was about what I expected a place like this to cost. It was a bit more expensive on the weekend, but I'd say the weekday rate is good value.

This hotel had a lot of teenagers travelling with the S-trip tour group staying there. The teenagers were there on the weekend and were quite loud in the hotel common areas (lobby and elevators) but it appeared the staff made a big effort to minimize the disruption to other guests. I believe this was the reason we ended up with a room on the 18th floor (top floor). We had a view of the city looking south, which didn't show anything exciting but it was nice to have a view of something.

The rooms are also very modern and minimalist with not a lot of furniture besides the beds, a built in desk and night table and one chair. The rooms contrast with the lobby as they are all done in white. I sometimes find this style to be very cold, but instead I just found it to be bright in there and I liked the little touches of orange they put to liven things up. I found the bed to be comfortable and I had a good sleep. The beds are of modern design and so are rather low. They are also quite soft, but I found it to my liking.

The bathroom was very nice, also done in black and white and very modern design. We had good water pressure and thick towels. I read in the reviews that some rooms only come with a shower stall, but the bathroom in this double room on the 18th floor had a full bathtub.

The hotel has a restaurant/bar located in the downstairs. We went there for breakfast. The prices are on the higher side for breakfast. Presentation was nice and the food was good, but not exceptional. There is free espresso/cappuccino in the lobby of the hotel and that was a nice touch. There were also cookies or other treats put out daily on the counter.

Overall, we had a very comfortable stay. We couldn't hear the other guests at night, including the teenagers. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Request a room with a bathtub if you need one as some rooms only have shower stalls.

This hotel is unlike any other we've stayed in. It's ultra modern and chic with lots of shiny black and glass. The rooms are minimilist but comfortable with a small desk for writing and checking e-mail.

The location is great as there are a lot of shops, stores, restaurants and bars close by. A block away is a park where events were being held the weekend we were there. There you could also catch a bus going most anywhere. We took a bus to Old Quebec but we also walked it a couple of times as it only takes about 15 minutes some of it uphill.

Ask the clerks at the desk and they'll tell you the number of the bus to take to Old Quebec. I found the employees all to be friendly and helpful. After a day of touring it was nice to enjoy a coffee, expresso or cafe a'lait from the free dispenser in the lobby. Nice place to stay...clean, modern and close to everything.

We stay'ed at the hotel pur in Quebec city last week. The location is perfect. You are near everything. The room is clean but a little small. The staff answered all our questions and offer great services. The bathroom is clean but I don't like the shower in the bath.
For the price (60$) it was good!

Room Tip: Try to stay at a high level

Excellent location as Old Quebec and all main attractions are walking distance from the hotel.
The room we had was on the 8th floor (815) facing office building, not a great view!!
The bathroom had what they call a European shower -large shower no bath)- which looks good but is not practical (messy, water all over) Make sure you ask for a bathroom with bath.
Nice feature was the coffee machine in the lobby however it would have been better to have a coffee/tea maker in the room.
The most disappointing was the bed; for a 4 star hotel we would have expected comfortable and cosy bedding; pillows were flat, duvet was barely warm. Also it would have been useful to have glasses for water in the room.
Staff was very friendly.

Room Tip: Manage to get a room on top floors for the view or facing west (i.e. on De la Couronne avoiding buil...

Stayed on New Year's Eve with another couple. Great location and price. Entire hotel has been newly renovated. Spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The heating and air conditioning systems have not been replaced or upgraded and are very loud and noisy. They function intermittently and only makes the matter worst. The system either produces extremely cold or warm air. I could not sleep at all. If you need a peaceful and quiet environment to sleep, I would definitely not recommend this hotel.

Stayed with my family three nights end of December. All staff at this hotel are very courteous. Efficient valet parking service. Booked a premium room; was on the 16th floor with great city view. Room is nice and clean; yes it is a minimalist design, but we liked it. We had a room with two double beds (not queen size). Pool is large and nice. Hotel is conveniently located in the Lower city area that has just been revamped. Will definitely consider this hotel for our next trip to Quebec City.

If you like classic old fashioned hotels this is NOT the hotel for you.

The rooms are decent size with a comfortable bed, refrigerator, desk and a small sitting area, large size flat screen tv, good size bathroom.

The bathroom is shower only and not fully enclosed which some people don't like but it had good water pressure and you could adjust the shower head so that you won't splash water everywhere.

There is WiFi available, and it work well for us.

The breakfast at the hotel was decent but a bit on the smaller size. The pancakes however where incredible!

The location is a little far from the old town, which we were aware of. It is a uphill 20min walk up to reach the old town. Take Couronne left as you exit the hotel, you can take the elevator at the end, take St Claire on the right as you exit the elevator and UP to St Jean. Turn left and you will reach the old town.

There are plenty of places to eat nearby, pizza, Thai, etc. worth mentioning was Saigon-Bangkok next door. Good food and bring your own wine!
