Great Hotel if you want something different from the ordinary.

Hotel is still under construction but every thing looks mostly done. Location is great, staff wonderful. Previous review explain every thing about rooms and facilities Big plus they have aveda products in the bathroom which was great and something that really surprised my wife and I was the present the receptionist gave to my son as a welcome from the hotel. Details are important and that one make us feel really welcomed. Will stay there many times.

Bernard the guy at the reception was very attentive and helpful every time we needed some thing, big plus for a very modern place in a very old historic city.

Spent New Year's Eve in Quebec City and took a chance on Hotel Pur even after reading the consturction complaints posted on this and other sites. With the exception of the front lobby having one or two floor areas being uneven the hotel seemed completely reno'd, at least our room was.

Our room was on the 10th floor with a great view of a courtyard and large Church. The golden statue of a Saint on the top of the Church was directly out or window so we did have to close the curtains a few times if you know what I mean (Catholic guilt)!!! The room itself had a large king bed, in room mini bar (too pricey for my liking) and ipod alarm clock which came in handy. The bathroom was rather large and the glass enclosed shower was very soothing and clean and I liked the fact that the handles to turn on the shower were at the opposite end of where the shower head was so you could turn on the water and not get douced in cold water while waiting for the water to get warm. No bathrobe which I found odd for such a modern and sleekly designed room.

Other amenities in the hotel where the excellent pool and gym. There was a great coffee shop just outside the hotel as well.

The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from old Quebec although there is an elevator just up the street which makes accessing the citadel and Place D'youville very simple. Great recommendation for brunch at Cora's which was a five minute walk from the hotel.

Definately would recommend and will post pictures at a later date.

We stayed at the Hotel PUR for 2 nights and had very plesant experience. This was our very first visit to quebec from NYC.
They mainly speak french, even TVs were all in french, but everybody in the city had no problems speaking English.

We arrived very late and couldn't find the lobby of the hotel. That was due to the construction, the lobby looked completely empty & white and the clear glass doors had X marks on it. But don't worry, by the time we were checking out,, glass doors no longer had the X marks and you should be OK now.

We were greeted by friendly staffs and I found all the staffs in the building very helpful. I've called the front desk couple of times for the directions and weather conditions and they were very kind to answer.

ROOM:
We had a full size double bed, with a tub in the bathroom.
The whole room was immaculately clean and pretty spacious
with a nice view of the city. We were on the 12th floor and there were no taller buildings from our view. We definately had a nice view of the faraway mountains and the city.

This room was very modern and it was surprising to find where the closet was. It was behind this large wall size mirror!
This closet had a safe box, a small drawer, an iron and of course, some room to hang your clothes.

There also was a mini-bar with drinks and alcohols, even some chips and chocolates. Two glasses were also provided.

Beddings were great! Beds were firm and confortable, pillows, sheets and comforters were clean. Couldn't ask for more.

They do offer a room service for breakfast and lunch.

BATHROOM:
If you look at their website, its exactly how it is shown!
(except for flowers)
They had a very nice, new, modern tub and sink.
They provided good AVEDA products for a shampoo, body lotion, facial soap and body soap. That was very nice.

FACILITY:
It was nice that they provided free wireless internect connection.

The pool and fitness center was more than expected.
I loved the fact that the pool didn't smell like chrorox and they also provided pool noodles! what a fun.
There is this guy/lifeguard(?) sitting near the pool and would give you towels as well. They also have a locker/shower room.

After reading the reviews about the renovations being carried out at the hotel I was a little concerned. At check in ( most of the lobby had scafolding and sheeting everywhere) I asked for a room on a high floor and away from the building work.
Check lady said in French 'but of course'
Given the ninth floor (9004)
Room was spartan to say the least. No where to put any suitcases/clothes Moved furniture in room to make better use of the space, this has to be a first!
The 1970's lifts make a loud 'bing' everytime the arrive at the floor which gets on your nerves in the room. But the best was saved for 8am the next morning. The pnematic drill started, we might have been away from the building work but that didn't stop the sound traveling through the concrete.
Booked for 4 nights but checked out after 3. I could not take any more.
Decor was grey grey grey.
Might be worth a visit in a years time if they ever finish the work!

What a great hotel stayed for only 2 nights but would have to stayed longer. When we booked in we were concerned at the alteration work going on in the reception area but once we were up to our floor it was fantastic dark grey corridors with bright orange numbers on the doors (maybe not to everyones liking) The rooms were even better quite minamilistic but with everything we needed (the clock/light/etc was brilliant) we also had a great view and it was lovely to go to sleep seeing the lights of the city. The hotel was only a short walk (15-20 mins from the old town) which is fantastic. We hope to go back to Quebec and would certainly stay at the Pur again
