“Great location in Old Quebec”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

We spent two nights at this Hotel October 11th and 12th, before boarding the Eurodam for a 12 day cruise. The location is absolutely perfect for walking around tthe Old City and is only a block from countless restaurants, pubs and shops.
Our hotel room was fairly small, however it was beautifully decorated and spotless. Service at the front desk was excellent and there was always a bellhop to carry luggage up and down the front stairs. The stairs were not a problem for us but if anyone was slightly handicapped then they are steep for sure. We had breakfast in the main dining room the first morning but it was pretty dismal, the buffet wasn't replenished fast enough so we didn't have a lot of choice, and the bill for two of us was over $50.00. The following morning we walked two minutes and found a creperie which charged less than $15.00 for the two of us - same bacon and eggs and toast. There is a Bistro attached to the lobby but looked too high end for our appetite and pocket book.
We would stay here again as the location can't be beaten and it's priced well.

This hotel is one of the best for a stay right in the middle of the activity in Old Quebec area.

The service is 100%, the staff is very courteous and the hotel is very clean.
Huge rooms are available at a unbeatable price.
Note that the parking is a valet parking and cost about 16$ a day.

Will be back anytime with my wife.

Room Tip: Breakfast not included

My wife, I and several friends arrived on a train from Montreal and decided to walk the block to the hotel. Try a cab, it's all uphill. When we arrived, we were greater by a friendly doorman that carried all the luggage up to the walk up lobby. When checking in, the desk clerk informed us that they needed the rooms and they had rebooked us at another hotel. To our surprise, they upgraded us to the Fairmont Chateau Frontenac, one of the most prestigious hotels in the world. The hotel even provided a taxi voucher for travel to and back from the hotel. We were returning to the original booking the next day.

Our stay at the Fairmont was as expected of a five star hotel, excellent. They even have an old greeting dog at the entrance desk. The unexpected experience was enjoyable.

Upon return to the Victoria, we were greeted with the same pleasantness as before. The room was not as luxurious as at the Fairmont, but was spacious and very comfortable. The hotel had an upscale restaurant that we bypassed for dinner, but came back for deserts. When we came back, it was jammed but they sat up promptly and the deserts where excellent.

Because of the service provided was excellent, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms are setback from the street due to the location and configuration of the building. All selecti...

The inside steps that greet you are too steep and there was no one to help us carry up our heavy luggage.
The aircon in our room was EXTREMELY noisy and even when we complained, nothing was done.
Walls were so thin you could hear other people talking in the hallway.
Space around the bed was not enough hence bruises that stayed for weeks.
We left 3 shirts and a thin raincoat in the room and asked them to post them on to our final hotel (2 weeks away) in San Fran. Enough time you would think to post something to us from Quebec?? It did arrive but cost us over $157.
The Cherry on top of of our stay was when we got into bed on our first night. I could feel something was a little different where my feet were and when I looked was astonished to see that the bed sheet was too small and came up about 1/4 of the way up the bed. We then had to get out and remake the bed.
This hotel is not the 4 star it claims to be.

Room Tip: If you do stay here, ask for a room with a quiet air con, away from the lift area.

A lovely hotel, but I feel that there are other hotels nearby with similar amenities for better value. The rooms were lovely, but a bit drafty and loud. Also, the large set of stairs at the front door makes it extremely difficult to get in and out while carrying luggage. While there are staff at the front to help, during busy times you must either wait or carry it up yourself.

The location, however, is fantastic. The old town is close by, and during Carnavale you're very much in the middle of all of the action. There are also a great number of fantastic restaurants nearby. So if you're in town for a busy vacation, the Hotel Manoir Victoria would be a good choice. However, the hotel lacks some of the elegance and charm that other places in the area offer.

Check in went very smooth lots of smiles from staff, English spoken, room was ready at noon.
Room was very nice with enough space to move around. Bed was very nice after a day of walking around. Shower was hot and had great pressure. We had no problems with the stairs to the lobby but can see we're others may, note that there are stairs and hills everywhere in Quebec City.
Hotel is located just around the corner from lots of places to eat, shops, and sites. We would stay again.

This is a beautiful small botique hotel.....the rooms are well appointed...the linen on the beds is crisp white and of superior quality....and the room is spotlessly clean. The only problem is that when you arrive you realize that there is a very large and very steep staircase from the street to the main lobby. There is no other way to enter and exit. We will not return!! only becaause I broke my ankle a while ago and it is still in recovery and the stairs (going down especially) is brutal and very painful. The hotel staff seem totally unaware of the inconvenience and challenge they are causing those that are not so agile.....although it has nothing to do with age. I am completely disappointed that they are not required to become 'accessuble".
