We visited Quebec city in summer of 2012 and stayed at ALT Hotel for 3 nights. We picked this hotel based on reviews and excellent room rates. The Concept Room was on the small side but it was more than enough. Everything in the room looked brand new. The room decor and colors gave off a vibrant vibe as opposed to homey cozy feel. The room reminded us of Barney Stinson's apartment where everything looks sharp and cool but you would not want to stay there for long. The bottom line ALT Hotel is a great place.

I have stayed in this hotel several times in the past 5 years, and while it is still a decent value and the location is good, they cut a lot of corners.
The rooms have a contemporary feel, and I find that the beds are very comfortable. Those are the best points of hotel. As for the bad, it appears that they have made a lot of cost cutting decisions that are not good. For example, they do not offer individual soaps and shampoos for the shower, instead the have a serious of pumps that you have to pump it out of. This is really gross. Furthermore, on my last stay, it appeared that they put restrictions on the thermostat, and I could not adjust the heat.I was freezing. In addition, there is no fitness facilities and parking is brutal.

The Alt in QC is decent value, as it is usually pretty affordable. A few years ago, this was a fantastic hotel, but over time, they have let it slide with some questionable cost cutting decisions. First time guests will likely find it OK.

modern, convenient, clean and quiet. Right next to Place Laurier, a large retail complex. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance or you can take a bus(1 min walk to bus stop) or drive to the older part of the city where you can find the charm and character of a 400 year old city. One of a kind in this part of the world.

Room was warm in the night, air conditioning shuts off by itself.

This was my first visit to Quebec. Rooms were very clean and modern. Staff was polite and very helpful. I did not get a chance to shop but within the hotel they have small shops for the busy traveler. Looking in the windows I was impressed by the selection, again the shops were modern and clean. If I ever get a chance to take a vacation I will certainly visit for a R&R trip!
