“A great tour and a great view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2014

When you go to the Citadel, you have to take the tour since it is still an active military base, and you can not wander around on your own. The tour is about an hour, and our guide was great. You get an amazing view of the city when you reach the highest point of the base. There is no changing of the guard ceremony during the winter, so if you would like to see that, please go in the summer.

“Decent tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2014

We were in town for winter carnival and decided to tour the citadel. The staff were very friendly. Our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. She shared the history of the fort with us in a clear, easy to understand way. The displays are informative. Overall it was a nice but not spectacular experience. There really isn't much to see on site and the tour is a bit plain.

“Fun tour on an active military base”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

What a comprehensive tour! Even though it is only touted to be 45-60 minutes long, this tour is definitely worth it. The mini-museums and the fantastic view of the Chateau Frontenac is what sets this tour apart from others.

“Don't miss the tour of the Regiment Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

We found the history of the Citadelle very interesting. Highly recommend the english tours which leave every hour. Be sure to ask for discounts -- we received a military discount otherwise it would have been 20 dollars.

“Interesting History”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2014

We went with a guide so she was able to really inform us about tthis place and give us a great appreciation for it's place in Quebec's history. The park land around is beautiful and the building itself is fits perfectly with all of the old town architecture.
