“Exceptional!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

Prior to boarding Holland America for a cruise, we choose to stay at the Frontenac for one night just to "experience" it. What a grand hotel! We opted for the gold level, which provided us with a room that overlooked the harbor and our cruise ship gave us access to the lounge and special concierge service. The room was beautiful and the bed was the most comfortable that I have ever slept in -- EVER. The service in the lounge was exceptional. But my hat really goes off to a lady who helped us with a problem we had with our reservation. Due to some technical issue that occurred when I made the reservation online and also signed up for the Fairmont's President's Club, the date of the reservation got switched to the date of the sign-up. I hadn't even realized it until just before the trip and panicked. The national Fairmont staff recommended that I contact the hotel directly, which I did and they put me in touch with a lady by the name of Carmen. I can only say that this lady should be the face of Fairmont. She provided customer service unlike that which I have seen in many years. She promptly addressed the situation, applied my monies to the new booking, got us the best rooms imaginable and took me from panic mode to wanting to give her a big hug! The service at this hotel is beyond what you could ever imagine. Dropping off the car and getting it back when we were ready to leave was so easy. The surrounding areas are fun to explore. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Room Tip: Contact Carmen for the best room and rates at the hotel directly

There is a reason that this is the most photographed hotel in the world. It is architecturally stunning. It is also full of history. Take the tour and you will see everything from the suite where presidents stay to the room where the allied forces planned D-Day to the rooftop aviary. The rooms are lovely and the staff is over-the-top friendly. If that is not enough, then toss in the fact that the location is the best in the city.

This is a bucket list hotel! If you only splurge on one thing on your trip to Québec City, this should be it. Le Chateau Frontenac is right on the boardwalk and has stunning views. Hop on/off bus has Stop#1 here and the Funicular is only steps away.

The staff is multilingual and very accommodating. The beds are extremely comfortable and Wifi is excellent. Keurig coffemaker and coffee is in the room. Room service is expensive, but very good. There is a Childrens' Menu option (which is something many hotels I have been to lack.) There are trendy shops inside the hotel and Starbucks is in the building. Don't forget to go to afternoon tea (a little different than normal afternoon tea, but very nice.) Desk, concierge, restaurant and bell staff were very knowledgable and friendly.

Get a River view or better on floor 5 or higher. Spend some time exploring. The dining room and the lobby are very beautiful - especially the lovely elevators.

Room Tip: At least River view or better on floor 5 or higher

Best hotel experience of my life. We stayed on the Concierge level. Our room was on the corner of the 14th floor with magnificent 180 degree views of the river and the city, the statue of Champlain, overlooking the illustrious architechture of the beautiful Frontenac. The room was beautifully decorated and spacious. We saw no evidence of recent renovations. Everything was immaculate and detailed. We watched the gentle ice flows change with the tides and a small amount of snowfall that made the entire city entirely enchanting. The service and staff all around were 5 stars. Morning to night free cappuccinos and lattes, plus a top notch continental breakfast and evening snacks, both with hot items. The concierge lounge is beautifully appointed. The restuarant was OK, not fabulous, I had French onion soup that was mostly broth, not as flavorful as I am accostomed. A great trip! Highly recommend this hotel!!

Room Tip: Stay on the conceirge level. It is worth the price.

Perfect location, historical building. Wonderful view of the river, from the guest room and from the Fairmont Gold Lounge on the 14th floor. Excellent hotel, as expected for a Fairmont Resort.

We stayed here for one night on a trip to Northern Quebec.

The hotel is absolutely stunning and the rooms are newly renovated but carefully oordinated with the general style of the hotel.
Be aware there are lots of tourists in the lobby taking pictures. We found the restaurant to be average.
Stay here if you can- it's quite the experience and simply stunning! The location is prime!

Was an amazing stay really enjoyed how close the town was to the hotel....wasn't a long walk or fenicular to the town and in the town there are lots of things to see and do. Like museums and bike trails and boats to look at...many more await...
