“WOW, staying where royalty has been!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

This hotel is EVERYTHING you've ever seen or read about it! The ultimate in luxury, and service. However it is unrealistic for many travelers who wish to experience Quebec City. There are numerous small B&B's and hotels that are lovely, historic and intimate, and VERY much less expensive! Staying at the Frontenac with 1200 other people (not counting large staff) is kinda like a fancy cruise ship docked at this small wonderful historic city. If the cost of a plain small room was not so astronomical I would rate it higher. It's wonderful, but you pay dearly for this experience. A $25 hamburger, come on!

Amazing surrounding, great location, charming room, fabulous decor and professionnal staff!! This historical landmark is the perfect place to stay while visiting Quebec City. The view of the St Lawrence river is beautiful.

I stayed here with my husband for two nights in October 2013. We had a room overlooking the city on a Gold floor. Even though the renovations were going on, we enjoyed our stay. This October I returned for four nights with my sister. Again, on the Gold Floors. The room was lovely. I paid the extra for a river view, and we were not disappointed.Breathtaking. Valet parking was chaos, but better than last year. The woman who checked us in on the fourteenth floor was kind and helpful. Overall, the stay was so nice that I hesitated to mention an issue I had. However, two months later, it still bothers me. When I stayed with my husband, the attitude of the lounge staff was so different. From the moment we arrived, they made it their business to know our (his!) name, and all were very solicitous. This year I was there for twice as long, and we felt invisible. Except for the original woman at the desk, no one ever recognized us. Every time we stopped in the lounge(several times a day) we were asked for our name and room number. One younger man (just the one) behind the desk was absolutely snotty to us, but generally I just felt invisible. I didn't appreciate it, and I would therefore not return in similar circumstances, nor would I recommend it to other women traveling alone. Old world service evidently comes with old world sexism.

The Chateau Frontenac where to begin.
It is truly a work of art.
Jaw dropping..pulling up here just takes one's breath away.
Upon arrival we were immediately greeted by staff & valet attendants
with warm welcomes. The valet were uniformed sincere gentlemen in long regal coats and hats.
Check was smooth and the desk was very helpful, offering suggestions & solutions to questions.

We came to our room and enjoyed a sea of luxuries. Warm heavy robes, soft bedding, and the most luxurious bath soaps & lotions unmatched by any other. That was my favorite part. The amazing Le Labo toiletries. Having the scent stay with you through the day reminding you of the splendor of Chateau Frontenac.
The room temperature was perfect.
I loved the shops and mostly that this hotel is pet friendly! Resident pup Texon
a gentle friendly mild mannered sweetheart himself just added to the magic of it all.
We were treated like royalty through out our 5 day stay.

Our experience here was truly extraordinary & nothing short of magnificent!

Thank you.

A friend and I, who had been up since 4:30 am, arrived in Quebec City on 20 November and decided on an early dinner in the hotel. We checked out the wine & cheese bar and the bistro, and then thought we wanted something a bit more substantial. We walked into the really beautiful Champlain Restaurant, and, though we didn't have a reservation, we were graciously welcomed and shown to a table in an alcove up a few steps, with a view of the long passage that serves as a wine cellar. The waiter mentioned the "Christmas in November" option, which looked so interesting, we decided to try it. This selection included a 4-course, gastronomic menu for two and included a bottle of red or white organic, Spanish wine. We chose the red. The chef sent out amuse-bouches, which contained, as best I recall, watermelon mousse, salmon eggs, and salmon. I'm not doing it justice, but it was a delicious morsel. The four courses were gravlax, a pumpkin and burnt orange cream soup, porcini mushroom stuffed chicken, and pistachio cookie with white chocolate ice cream. Our waiters, Eric and Mathieu were wonderfully informative and attentive, and they brought out Chef Stephane Modat to meet us. It was a delightful experience, as was our whole stay at Le Chateau Frontenac.

Room Tip: We had a very comfortable room overlooking the entrance courtyard, and it was very quiet. We were n...

Green Features: We read about their green practices and were happy to see a recycle container in the room. The room temperature was cool, but I thought just right.

Stayed at the Chateau Dec 6, 2014-Dec 9, 2014. We arrived at the Chateau around 2 in the afternoon. When we pulled up we were instantly greeted by the friendly staff and handed over our keys to have our car valet parked for the next few days. Valet parking was the same price as self-park with in and out privileges. It was nice to avoid the hassle of trying to park the car and lug our bags around. The hotel lobby was very busy with guests checking in and tourists visiting the hotel. Despite the crowds we were checked in quickly. We had a deluxe river view room on the second floor. The room and view were lovely although the bathroom was small. There was a spacious safe in the room in the bedside table. I was able to easily fit my laptop as well as several other items. The only downside about the room was the noise from the conference rooms that were also located on the second floor on our arrival night. There was a very large party occurring and the noise traveled down the hall to our room. It was not so terrible that we were unable to sleep but it is definitely something to be aware of if you are a light sleeper. The other nights were very quiet with no noise. The hotel was in a wonderful location for exploring Old Quebec, everything we wanted to see was within an easy walking distance. Will definitely stay at this beautiful resort again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the second floor may experience noise from events in the conference rooms. May want to requ...

situated on the boardwalk of the old part of quebec, what a beautiful view..exquisite ..renovations done to hotel are amazing. I love historic architecture, and this property was exactly what i pictured. service is very good, room newly renovated but ,was not renovated for noise i suspect..could front ..didnt make a big deal about it ..so i informed front desk at check out..we traveled with my son and my brother-in-law and his wife..their room was enchanting..they paid a small amount extra of upgrade, it was worth it.. i had a tuple (2 double beds)..it was fine for us for the price..overall, ill definitely stay again if i have a chance.
