My husband and I stayed at the hotel two Christmases ago on the concierge floor. The lounge was lovely but please remember, other 4-5 star hotels include wine, this hotel does not and two years ago, 9 USD for four ounces. Yes, even the bar downstairs measures the ozs. for drinks. My husband could not believe the "tiny" poor of good scotch for $27.00. The food service for breakfast and hordeauves was excellent. Marie on the concierge floor -- a gracious and pretty woman who knew everything. They are very professional. The hotel needs lots of upgrading and are in the process of doing this -- including the public areas and restaurants. Would recommend this hotel for a short stay until all upgrading is finished. Bathrooms are extremely small and I understand are not changing. So ...... Views on the higher floors are fabulous! The hotel is worth a try. At Christmas -- love the decor. Nothing beats it!

I wanted to get away for a few days with my wife as I was changing jobs. We chose Old Quebec City and the Fairmont Chateau Frontenac as the venue. A little pricey but location could not be better as it is in the heart of the old city with plenty of shops and restaurants right nearby. The atmosphere of the hotel is charming and quiet. Hallways on our room floor seemed a little dark - and at times spooky - but we laughed it away as adding to the charm. Breakfast buffet, while again pricey, was excellent and service was just as good.

We chose to stay at the Chateau Frontenac after suggestions of our travel agent. In fact she was right to say that this castle has a particular atmosphere and that is is great to have experienced it. For my point of view it is a great suggestion for short stay. The room is great but furniture is a little bit lower then standard expectations for this category and brand. However, we have great memories and that is why i do recommend it.

Beautiful signature hotel in a classic setting overlooking the St. Lawrence in the historic part of Quebec City. Old-style elegance and comfort - not trendy but classic elegance. We had a quiet room in the Fairmont Gold section - worth the price we paid - great continental breakfast in Fairmont Gold lounge. Nice elegant (but not stuffy) bar overlooking the river. Visited during Winter Carnival- fun to be in a city that celebrates winter - even in very cold weather!
