This hotel is very special. It is very well localizated, I can say that it is in the heart of old Quebec City. It's near for everything, a lot of restaurants around the hotel, and it has beautiful view.
The service is excellent, they are always available to offer the best service.
The swimming pool and SPA are excellent and free. I could relax using these services.
The only remark is that you need pay near $17/day for internet access (wireless or not). I thing that is a little expensive for an internet connection.

Perfect location. I had a great room with a nice view even though I didn't pay top price. Valet parking was great although when you first arrive (and everyone seems to be arriving at the same time as you) it can seem confusing. Get their loyalty card before coming to get free Internet. You can do it online.

For our 45th anniv. we decided to splurge and check into the Chateau Frontenac in Quebec. As soon as we drove thorugh the archway into the courtyard the valets and bellhops assisted us with our luggage, took our car (never to be seen again till we checked out!). Stepping into the lobby was like stepping back in time to a beautiful, more elegant era. When we checked in we were told they had overbooked and the lovely (very efficient and very polite) young lady "upgraded" us. Wow! what a lovely room - two windows overlooking part of the city and the St. Lawrence toward the island. Looking out at night there were millions of twinkling lights. During the day, we got to see the cruise ships docked, the horse drawn carriages, and so much more without ever leaving the room. The room itself was immaculate, with lovely furniture, very comfortable bed, coffee maker & K cups. As noted by others, the bathrooms are very small, but spotlessly clean. The room was very quiet. The hotel is so perfectly located, we were able to walk everywhere. (For the die hards, there is a Starbucks on the lower level of the hotel.) Absolutely everyone we met who worked there went out of their way to make us feel like royalty. We were disappointed that we never got to see the resident dog, but Le Chateau Frontenac really is someplace you want to try at least once in your life!

Staying at the Chateau is taking a step back in time to experience elegance, beauty and excellent customer service. From the front lobby to the sumptuous rooms it is certainly a grand experience full of old-world charm. Staff are very friendly and attentive and the service is excellent. Rooms do vary but it is worth treating yourself to a turret room or other upgrade to get the full benefit of what is being offered and to ensure a good view of the river and surrounding historic city. A great deal of effort has gone into keeping this aging facility both true to its historic nature but well kept and up to date in amenities. Our stay was comfortable and stimulating.
It is a special treat to go there in the winter, even in December when there is great shopping and outdoor Christmas markets and entertainment. At the Chateau you are in the middle of everything and it is easy to get to Lower Town or to almost anywhere in the old city. Transportation is extremely easy if you need it and the area around the Chateau is a hub for major tours and activities. There are lots of good restaurants in the area as well as at the Chateau and places to pick up groceries, snacks, wine and beer if you need them.
If you like the outdoors there is lots to do, even in the middle of winter. They even have a resident dog/ambassador, Santol, in the lobby who loves to visit with home-sick pet lovers or even go for walks.
It may not be the cheapest hotel in town but it certainly is the classiest and well worth the visit and the cost. Check for special rates and packages and you can do very well.
