Owner description: These 275-foot falls on the Montmorency River tower higher than even the legendary Niagara Falls. The 2013 season promises to be exhilarating for people who will visit Parc de la Chute-Montmorency – Montmorency Falls, the second most visited site of the provincial capital after Old Quebec. The highlight of all the new summer activities is certainly the opening of two via ferrata routes built in the Boischatel fault near the waterfalls. Via ferrata – this is italien for “iron roads”, is an activity accessible to everyone over 12 years old that combines hiking and rock climbing. The two paths are built on the rockface on the eastern side of the waterfall. The less adventurous will also be able to get stunning views of the 83-meter high waterfall aboard the cable car which now runs with sparkling new cabins. History buffs will be glad to know that guided tours are now offered each weekend in the company of Sir Frederick Haldimand, who served as Governor of Quebec from 1778 to 1786 and Mathilde Robin, best known as the Lady in White, who lost her fiancé during the Montmorency Battle in 1759. Guided tours are offered in French or English until Labour Day weekend.

“A nice place to walk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2012

I have been to more scenic areas--but these falls were nice in that there was a tram up to the walkway over the falls. Beware that you will need to walk a ways and some stairs if you wish to use the walkway over the falls. The walkway was nice, and leads also to many different areas to view the falls and to take pictures. If you miss the tram (as we did)--you can drive a car to top of the falls area.

“Great place for lunch”

Take sandwiches and have a picnic at the bottom of the falls on one of the picnic tables, it's lovely!

“Great views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2012

We visited the first week in April and were pretty much the only ones there. The views were spectacular. It was snow flurrying during our visit and that made the falls look even more beautiful.

“Stunning - a must see!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2012

We recently spent a "girls weekend" in Vieux Quebec and went on a half-day tour to Montmorency Falls and Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré. The tour included a visit to the countryside on the Isle of Orleans, stops at a chocolaterie, a bread oven and a Copper Art Museum.
But the highlight of the trip was the Montmorency Park and Falls. It is spectacular! Especially the view from the suspension bridge. Don't miss it!

“Spectacular!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2012

We have been there in August and February and it was very impressive both times. You are better off parking in the top lot and not having to take the tram up.
