“Yep ! It's a great place to stay !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

I was a little suspicious of a place with ratings THAT high, but after visiting for one night, we can definitely see how they were justified. Pierre and Linda's hospitality, attentiveness and avaiable information showed that they had put a lot of thought into how to make sure their guests had a great time.

The Eggs Benedict at breakfast were to die for, Pierre's restaurant recommendation was spot on, and his tourism recommendations were great. We enjoyed Wandake - don't miss it.

With our visit being in late fall, we weren't able to take advantage of the lake, but we saw all the boats and equipment thet Pierre had available so we were sure that it would be a great spot for summer.

The only reason that I didn't go with the 5-star majority was that our room was probably due for an update. It was really comfortable and clean, but the TV was small and old, and there were marks on the walls and signs of previous things being attached etc. Also, our room was rated for 6 people - that would have been very tight.

Overall rating - excellent value, excellent service - go there !

Room Tip: Family room rated for up to 6 people would be very crowded. Look at the pictures on booking.com and...

thank you very much for your comment.

We are very happy that you took the time to write a comment about your stay at our B&B and it is very appreciated.

We are very happy that you enjoyed your stay with us and that we've been at your expected level based on our high rating on tripadvisor

The room you were in is our oldest one and it is true that it needs to be refreshed a bit, so it will be one of our first priorities for the next few weeks. To give some more space in it, we moved last week the small fridge and microwave in the entrance wardrobe. So now, it is quieter and more spacious in the room than before.

Again thanks for your comments and suggestions, it will help us to improve our customer satisfaction level

We decided to stay near Quebec City at the end of our honeymoon. Le Gite du Hu-Art was a wonderful surprise. Best B&B I've ever stayed in. Our hosts, Linda and Pierre, were very attentive and warm. Their house is beautiful, with their private pier and kayaks and canoes to use in the lake. Our room was big, sunny, and cheerful. The bathroom had a whirlpool tub and was beautifully appointed. The best part was breakfast - Linda is a masterful cook! It was pretty to look at, scrumptious, and filling. Then Pierre sat with us to give us some very helpful advice on what to do in Quebec City. I definitely want to go back!

We looked no further than what Fikrija said in an excellent review. I don't believe we read this before we left home and finding it now allows us to add our personal experience in fewer words, because they said so much that described it perfectly. We are a mature couple 59+ who were completely pleased to see what a beautiful location and home we would be enjoying as a refuge to return to after visiting the surrounding area, especially Quebec City. Pierre and Linda's help with directions and tips about where and when to visit things that interested us, were so helpful and made visiting the area so much more pleasant. At breakfast, not only was the food, beautiful, delicious and healthy (my wife's words),you could also ask to have adjustments made to suit your wants and needs, if necessary, due to special diets, health concerns, etc. Requests made, of any kind, were quickly and warmly addressed, which made our vacation even more relaxed. The comfort of our room was outstanding. Great bathroom, the tub and shower were beautifully designed and decorated. We slept so well!
Waking up to the breakfast and the pleasant company of other visitors of varying ages, couples with children and older folks, all seeming to have a lovely time, complemented our experience. After breakfast Pierre was helpful with directions, best places to park our car, etc. Our hosts always managed to take time out of their busy schedules to talk to us. Near the end of our stay, we were invited to see Pierre and Linda's children's artwork. That was one of the highlights. It was an interesting introduction to their children's chosen careers. We found it touching. We also liked their dog, Jesse - one day long haired, the next day shaven! He was very cute, well mannered and quiet. Their children were visiting during our stay and we were able to be acquainted with one or two other dogs who visited along with the children. We would have loved to have seen more of the dogs, but they are trained and stay in the private areas of their home. The dogs would hardly be noticed except by people who love dogs. They are very non intrusive. We just want to sum up by saying we had a fabulous stay. This experience has encouraged us to explore other bed and breakfast experiences on future vacations. If or when we return to Quebec City, our first choice will be Le Gite du Hu-Art. We would love to return! My wife wanted to stay more 2 more months after being there for five days. She was just starting to relax. It takes her awhile, after we leave home.
Sincerely, Steve and Donna, California

I can't say enough. Very, very pleasant experience! The location is perfect: just by the lake, with a private small beach and a deck, 15-minute drive from the heart of Quebec City. Short drive from everything you will want to see around.

The owners are sooo nice and welcoming! Pierre told us in detail where we could go and what we should see while in Quebec. We were able to use their boats, kayaks, canoes, vests -- all for FREE, and for as long as we wanted.

Linda's breakfasts... Yummy and unique! I don't think you had them elsewhere. Ever.
She heard our son loved watermelons, so she made him a fruit platter with flower- and heart-shaped watermelons and made smiley face with the rest of the fruit.

The price is really good. By the way, laundry facilities are on the site, they provide the detergent and everything. The whole kitchen is available to use. Every room is equipped with a microwave and a fridge. The closets are spacious. TV set is in a room, including a DVD player and numerous DVDs from which you can choose. They even had several shelves with the games you can take into your room and play with your friends and family. It is quiet, but child-friendly.

You just need to go there and see it. You will enjoy the daily activites or just rest by the lake, drinking a coffee or a tea, listening to the birds and the silence of the lake... We wish we could have stayed there the whole summer. Or forever, actually.

Room Tip: Any room is just perfect. Choose whatever is available for booking.

The B&B sits right by the lake with beautiful view. If the weather is warmer, we will definitely go out kayaking. The location is ideal for visiting both Quebec City and Ile Orleans. The breakfast was very delicious. Pierre and Linda are friendly, hospitable and knowledgeable. Without them, we may miss out many interesting places to visit. We also thank the flexible arrangement for us to leave early the 2nd day and arrange us breakfast in a nearby place.

This is probably the best B&B I have ever visited in all my travels. The location is great (the house sits right by the lake), the house is beautiful, and breakfast was delicious. Linda and Pierre were very kind and always ensured that we were happy. The place is decorated tastefully and the artwork is just wonderful. My husband and I have made it a note to return here again the next year.

If I could give it six stars I would. There are BnBs and then there is Le Gite du Hu-Art.
We visited Pierre et Linda just a few short days ago and we already want to go back. Ever so often on our travels we meet people who are not just amazing but truly admirable. We have been lucky to have experienced the hospitality of this family.

We stayed at the Gite for four nights and felt like it was too short. The BnB is not far from the city (15 mins drive) but you do need a car if you stay there.

About the Bnb
The room that we stayed in was brand new and built with so much thought. It was super clean and done up beautifully in warm colors.

Every detail of your stay is so thoughtfully taken care of. Super comfy beds, clean smelling sheets, extra bedding should you need it, microwave, fridge, tv etc etc. Everything that we could need, they have thought of.

The breakfast which Linda personally makes is truly beautiful to look at and taste. She had a little plate every morning for the baby. Even told me her recepie for scrambled eggs which my little one loves.

Make sure you have time to be out on the lake. It is amazing and Pierre lets you use all the equipment for free!

Pierre is a wealth of information on things to do around Quebec. He even loaned us his cds to use around the Ile d'orleans.

The best part was the fully equipped kitchen where we met a couple of interesting people, had fun conversations and cooked all our eveing meals which was so great after a week of having the eat almost every meal out.

While these are the obvious positives about the Gite, I cannot put into words the love and warmth that we recieved at this place. We were there with our 15 month old and they truly treated our daughter as if she were one of the family. Linda would make sure that the baby had a chance to play with the dog (jessie) every morning but only after she was done with her bfast. We were out one evening trying to get the fire going outside and Pierre saw us and came out and lit it for us, in the middle of his dinner.
Like any proud father, Pierre took us around his living room and showed us the art work (which by the way was fabulous) done by his daughters.

While we were looking forward to seeing Quebec city, the Gite and our stay at it became the highlight of our trip.

As my baby puts it every night before going to bed "Go Jessie Home". Thank you for such a great time ,we will surely be back Pierre and Linda :)

Room Tip: Linda is very accomodation about any dietary restrictions that you might have. Make sure you let her...
