“Perfect balance”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2012

Like everyone has already said, in all languages: Pierre, Linda, their family -- including Jessie and Thunder -- open the world with a warm embrace into their special lakeside paradise... and those breakfasts are to die for.

We arrived without a car, and we did take the bus into town the first day (thanks Pierre for the ride to the bus stop!) but with Mum being in her "golden age", this proved impractical. Off we went to rent a car and this made our week even more perfect.

It was great to be able to go 15-20 minutes, direct down the motorway and be in Quebec city old town. It was also great to be able to just go out and get lost in the beautiful countryside.

The Gite was such a wonderful and perfect place to be, and the whole family have the balance just right for everything.

Highly recommended. And if you happen to find yourself there during Quebec's annual summer festival, as we did, the free entertainment in town is just a special addition to an already special place.

I love art, food & travel. I have been traveling around the world for many years, and have stayed in all kinds of places even high end hotels where they served grand buffets for breakfast. However none of those breakfasts can compare to Mrs. Belangers’ breakfasts; they are not only breathtakingly beautiful, but also very fresh and utterly delicious. We stayed for three days, and regretfully only got chances to take two pictures. Without exaggeration, I rank Mrs. Belanger's breakfasts as the best in the whole world.
Their rooms are clean and cozy. There is plenty of hot water for the Jacuzzi bath. The free kayaking, boating and fishing are literally in their backyard.
Highway 73 is about 5 minutes driving from this B & B. You can go south about 15 minutes to Quebec's famous Old Town, and north about 20 minutes to Parc national de la Jacques-Cartire where you can go hiking, biking, snow shoeing and more…
I’ll definitely return soon.

This place is somewhat “out in the country”. About 20 minutes from Quebec City – and that was a BIG PLUS. Quiet and peaceful. We took kayaks and canoes out on the beautiful lake; ate Linda’s amazing breakfasts (she has a language barrier – but no barrier for our taste buds!); And enjoyed all the amenities.
Linda and Pierre were very friendly people. One night I built a campfire and invited them to have s’mores with us. Linda had never eaten one! They sat around the fire and chatted with us for several hours. We definitely recommend this B & B.

We stayed for three nights; this place is perfect for us because the location is between the city and Jacques Cartier National Park; so we hiked three trails, visited the city twice and went to waterfall; owner of the inn is very friendly and helpful. We also like the facilities; we used the boat to go around the lake and I used the jacuzzi in the room; it was very relaxed. The breakfasts are exceptional good and so delicious; it provided energy for us on the trails . Thank you Pierre and Linda; For sure, we will be back.

This B&B has a privileged and peaceful location with private access to a lake that put you in touch with the nature but still close enough to Québec city (15 min by car). We received a friendly welcome where details about accomodations and facilities were precised. Kayaks and canoes were available free of charge. The Galarneau room was very clean, spacious and had a nice bucolic decoration. Furthermore, it is furnished with microwave, fridge and a useful kettle (+ tea and coffee suplies) if you want to have a cup of tea at sunrise on the lake. Breakfast on the terrace was tasty and generous. Last, but not least, our luxurious bathroom was equipped with a chromotherapic bath.

We stayed for two nights following other Tripadvisor recommendations and couldn't have been more happy with the experience. Pierre and Linda were super welcoming and the accomodation was fantastic. Spacious, clean, peacful and wonderfully located right on the lake. They have a collection of boats and canoes and were only too happy to let us borrow them for an outing, free of charge. The breakfasts were delicious with lovely surroundings. We actually got engaged whilst we were out there in the Jacques Cartier national park which is a half hour drive north.
