Owner description: A creative chocolate shop and an informative small chocolate museum where visitors can learn about the history of chocolate. The Chocolate Museum is free, self guided and displays more than 200 artifacts and objects related to chocolate history. All the displays now have their English version. Two video are presented (Artisan Chocolate Making and the Industrial Chocolate Making Process (French), from the cocoa tree to the chocolate bar). Watch the chocolatiers at work through a window while you try one of our 10 renowned hot chocolates. In the boutique, the chocolate lovers will find a great variety of classic and audacious handmade chocolates (try the Biquette, a chocolate with goat cheese and Bartlett pear puree!). Indulge yourself with one of our chocolate pastries (chocolate brownies, cookies, cupcakes and decadent chocolate cake) and during the summer, let yourself be tempted by one of the 69 homemade ice cream, sorbet, frozen yogourt and tofu offered! Érico is located in the Faubourg Saint-Jean Baptiste, a convivial part of the city, outside the touristic old walls, that is worth the visit.

“A Wonderful and Informative History of Chocolate.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

Erico Chocolate Museum is a wonderful and informative history of chocolate. I had never seen a dress or working clock completely made of chocolate. I found the objects d'art mesmerizing. Did not try any of the confectionaries as they were pretty pricy but did enjoy a small cup of hot cocoa. A perfect way to warm up to a chilly winter day.
Because of its location on rue Saint Jean, it easily can become a daily addition for delicious decadence.

“Interesting”

Interesting small museum outlining the history of the production of chocolate. We tried hot chocolate drinks after viewing the museum. Luscious!

“To know everything about chocolate”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2012

Cute place with a well-documented area, the chocomuseum. You will learn all food process about how to obtain chocolate with a lot of history and plenty of anecdotes.
However don't expect a museum, it's a chocolate store after all !
The price is quite expensive but you will not resist to an ice-cream or just a 25 cent sample just because you're chocolate addictive or you just want to support the initiative.
I recommend this place visiting the Saint-Jean street.

“Small museum, but nice store”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2012 via mobile

The museum part was interesting, but smaller than expected. The attached store had a nice variety of chocolate and was extremely crowded, which was a good sign. Haven't tried my purchases yet, they will be flying back to Florida with me.
