You can't beat the location of this hotel for the price; right beside the Chateau Frontenac and all of the central Quebec City sites. Room was clean and charming; beds were comfortable, (only criticism was the bathroom was very small); staff were very friendly and helpful; breakfast was offered at a sister B & B, 40 meters away...croissants were excellent! all in all superb value for the price. Would highly recommend. Thank you Fleur de Lys for a wonderful stay!

Hard to find but once you have, you will be pleased on how central it is, for the price. We are family of 4 in a double room, so a bit tight, but good enough. Breakfast was great, lots to choose from !

Dear Guest,

As new owners (since Dec.2013) we have read carefully you advise dated on Mai 2011.

As most of the hotel's guests you have particularly appreciated our location and have liked the breakfast during you last stay. Let yourself be surprised and come to visit us again you will love the new breakfast, more choice, a better quality and last but not least directly served in the Grand Salon of the hotel since the re-opening (Feb 2014).

During your last stay you found the room a bit tight for 4 persons, for you next stay why not try a Junior Suite, a Family room or The Gouverneur Suite. All these large rooms are adapted for families of 4 or 6 persons

We hope these few words will prompt you to visit us soon,

Looking forward to welcoming you,

Best regards,

La direction, Olivier

I've been staying at this hotel for over 25 years, and at all seasons. The best thing it has going for it is location - right across from the Chateau Frontenac and the rest of Vieux Quebec. Price is reasonable and there is parking available for a fee behind the hotel. It has a European flavor: no frills, concierge can be rude at times, no 24 hour desk staff - but cozy and comfortable. There are a variety of sizes and shapes of rooms, so explain your situation when you make your reservation (well in advance - there's always something going on in Quebec!)

We arrived from Ontario..very tired and having travelled most of the day. The "Madame" who received us seemed nice...until we couldn't find any parking. We looked for another parking spot for hour and a half, to no avail. We checked in with her periodically to find out where else we could possibly park. She became impatient with us at one point. We were about to leave Vieux Quebec much to our dismay when she offered us a parking spot in the back of the hotel. She apparently was trying to redeem herself. It was a very tight squeeze but we managed to get in as we were quite desperate. The room was clean on first glance but it became increasingly obvious that it stunk. I think the smell came from the carpet. Not sure.
On a more positive note, as soon as we settled in, we found a quaint courtyard where we could relax and enjoy a glass of wine before heading out to enjoy the beautiful night life of Old Quebec.

Spent two evenings at the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable.

As a previous reviewer mentions, the shower is strong and you won't have any problems getting the shampoo out! Also , the TV was 13" and no remote, but there was cable. No breakfast in the morning but they give you coupons for $5 per person at a local restaurant. Food was very good.

All in all, nothing special about the hotel other than the age (1870's, I think) and location (footsteps away from everything),

Really basic hotel with no frills at all.
We had a room on the 3rd floor up a pretty steep winding staircase, usually not a problem but if you have ever been to Quebec City before you know the entire city is on a hill and the last thing I wanted to see after climbing up and down all day is more stairs.
The room had a double bed (kinda hard), a fridge in the corner, a dresser and a tiny old t.v.
Bathroom shower was not a low flow shower head which was awesome, no saving water here. Basic ammenities in the bathroom but we brought our own anyway.

What we do have going for the place is that it is in the old city really close to anything you want to see. The price is lower than average for the old town as well. There were a few parking spaces available for I think $14 a night but they were 1st come 1st served, managed to get the last one.

I don't think I would stay there again but for a moderatly priced option inside the walls it's not bad.

Small, historic hotel in the Old Upper City, within sight of the famous landmark, the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac hotel. Comfortable,no-frills hotel. Our room had 2 queen beds (need to request in advance). It was on the second floor; no elevator. Small bathroom appeared to have been added to a bedroom or living/dining area of an older home. Just soap, no shampoo provided. Once the desk clerk goes off duty (time seemed to vary by day), you need to use your key to get into the building, and if you need to check in, or request assistance, you need to go to one of their other properties, down the street. No breakfast included, but for each day of your stay you do get a coupon for 5 Canadian dollars off your order at Le Omelette restaurant, about a 10 minute walk away (we used our coupon on just one of our two days and got $10 off).
