“Carrot Cake - Yum!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

Stopped here for lunch while walking around lower Quebec. I had field green salad with almonds which left me room for an enormous slice of carrot cake. Good cake with excellent frosting. You should know that I am on a world-wide search for the best carrot cake ever. This one was good, but I think the piece I had on ViaRail was a bit better.

“What a delight!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

This was our last stop before leaving the beautiful city of Quebec. I hadn't had dessert during our short trip and was determined to do so before leaving so off we went to Le Petit Cochon Dingue for a 'no rules' brunch;) What a delight, quaint location with friendly, helpful staff. We ordered a half sandwich and pizza - both excellent, and a selection of dessert to try! The strawberry cheesecake melts in the mouth and was worth every calorie. The apple tart was lovely. It was so hard to pick just two! For the road we bought an almond chocolate croissant, a chocolate croissant, and a caramel whoopie cake (it was going to be a long drive). We tried some of each and they certainly didn't disappoint. This will definitely be one of our first stops during our next visit, perhaps for a real breakfast. Highly recommend as a 'must visit', if just for dessert or a light snack.

“nice place, good deserts, nice view, average staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

decent menu choices
nice desserts
good salads
staff was not really helpful when this annoying french women was throwing all her food around the place outside for the birds, and like hundreds of birds started to come and swarm.
the staff had a callous attitude and didn't really care when we complained.

just went inside then and ate.

otherwise good stuff.

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

Great food, reasonable prices. They have a bakery and a restaurant near each other. First time we grabbed a couple of sandwiches at the bakery with some pastries, because we were on the run. Next day we came back for more, and finally we had brunch at the restaurant on our last day of vacation. It was the end of August and the outside sitting was very enjoyable. Delicious food with unforgettable atmosphere. I highly recommend this place.

“So good, we went back a second time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

We spent 4 days in Quebec city and my husband insisted on going back to this great little place for a second time for lunch.

They offer a great lunch menu, lots of choices of soup, salads and sandwiches and offer them in combos for about $10 (includes soup/salad, sandwich of the day or other item and a drink), which is pretty reasonable for lunch in a very touristy area!! All the bread is made on site and is so delicious. The desserts are also tasty, but after the hearty lunch, we barely had room to indulge.

There is plenty of outdoor covered seating and on the 2nd floor they have plenty of seating - we were able to sit outside since the weather was nice. It is "cozy", very European type of seating with tables right next to each other, but that's all part of the experience. Although it's in the very touristy area of lower vieux Quebec city, it's slightly off the main road that you still get a chance to relax and regain your strength for more sightseeing.

Most of the staff are very attentive and friendly and accomodate to your lack of French :)

One thing to be aware of is that there are no toilets on the main floor so if you can't manage a full flight, you'll need to make a pit stop elsewhere - but definitely stay here for the food!!!
